Also, didn't Sf used to come with some other application, like a standalone batch processor? Or is my memory completely daft?
I’m pretty sure the batch conversion was built in and it came with CD Architect.
Yes, there was a separated Batch Converter, but it was a long time ago. Now, it's built-in. CD Architect was still a separate application (hope they didn't remove it from the package).

Another question: why Isn't spectralayers in my account? I registered it during installation.

SoundForge is a 32 bit app so it doesn't recognise 64-bit plug-ins

When you create a new project it allows you to set the sample rate?

Are you on your Normal Magic account or your Magix Pro Audio Account.
If your on your normal account then its worth mentioning that Spectra-layers (And samplitude) are actually registered on a different account then Soundforge. You need to create a Magix Pro Audio account and then you can Register it through there.
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.

It's somewhat confusing as MAGIX has 2 different user areas. My Spectral Layers is registered here:

That's a blast from the past. I remember using Soundforge long ago. The user interface hasn't changed a bit... And it's still 32bit. There's still acoustic mirror and wave hammer. Brilliant!

I found excellent tutorials on Groove3 for Spectralayers and Soundforge.

Now I've got Soundforge on the normal Magix account and Spectralayer on the pro account. Interesting... Magix is still Magix.

Thanks for all the answers. It was helpful.

Magix Germany have extended the sale until 19th December. So if you miss the above deadline, you still have 9 days to go.

So is this now an European only offer? Weird.

Samplitude is nice. I have used a free version of Samplitude as a wave-recorder and -editor. All those lovely fx are here: variverb and the analog modelling stuff. The three programs in the Suite don't feel as robust as other DAWS and editors, but there's a lot to explore.

27 years is not a very round number as let's say the 30 years of Cakewalk. So could this be an end of the line sale? Or will there be an update?

We are beta testing latest patch at the moment. I doubt there will be a X4 update until next summer.

Cakewalk just went out of business. Pretty sure this is just a hyper-aggressive attempt to grab market share by Magix.

BTW, just installed and tried Spectralayers Pro 4 -- I really like it so far. Has some very cool functionality I had always wanted when I had been using Adobe Audition, so I'm pretty stoked.

For those who have just bought the main products of SONY and have updated them efficiently and effectively, all signs point to a more expressive competitiveness. There is nothing wrong with that. :tu:

no I got it and I'm in the U.S.
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Magix is also hyper-aggressively promoting Vegas Pro (save $349):

In a review of Spectralayer 2 in Sound on Sound I read you can process with 64bit VST plugins, but I can't find that feature in version 4. Did Magix remove it?!
