*So this deal actually includes 3 audio editors, for those who might not realize, Melodyne (Top Tier) is also a full on editor, fundamentally, not so different from spectralayers but coming from a completely different direction. Great stuff! a must for complete audio dissection capabilities.

I'm still amazed that so many could avoid having a melodyne essentials lic up to now. This will be my 5th one I believe. I'm not even gonna ask them for it.
Anyway, thats great, as people can now begin the slow upgrade climb to the full version which can take a few years. -just sayin

I honestly have no need for Samplitude at all. But I could do with a decent audio editor that can match up to Wavelab or Adobe Audition.
Is Soundforge 32 bit only? Is SpectraLayers good for removing unwanted background sounds, such as crickets and bird noises from dialogue?

@v1o
Sound Forge is due for an update. Period. I expect it to drop the day the sale ends.
Spectral Layers is the f***ing bomb. It's a really dense program that focuses on what it does and it does that well. it's my new cleaning go to program
After playing with Samplitude for a few days I am pretty happy moving to it as my main DAW. I should add that I use audio software more for editing, cleaning and mixing so you might have different views.

@Kraznet... Just received email reply from Magix...
Now I understand the 2 sides.. "Consumer" and "Pro".. I would have thought all in the suite were Pro but I gather SoundForge is "Consumer"
Oh and how to get Melodyne, also can use same login details for both sites>> so all good ))
Thankx for your help.
BTW did you nudge your contact or is this just normal Magix response.. 2 hours is pretty good!

No I didn't nudge them because I thought I'd wait a bit to see what happened. So the response was pretty impressive anyway. Glad you got it sortedtoonertik wrote:@Kraznet... Just received email reply from Magix...

Can someone explain to me what the inclusion of soundforge mean? is it part of Sam itself or seperate? i have x3 and cannot find anything about it here.
it's not so important, i am just curious. i have an old copy of SF i still use.

SpectraLayers and Soundforge are separate installers and separate registrations.inkwarp wrote:Can someone explain to me what the inclusion of soundforge mean? is it part of Sam itself or seperate? i have x3 and cannot find anything about it here.

I'll try. The suite comes with Sound Forge Pro 11. It was a Sony product, but MAGIX acquired Sony Creative Software. It's 32-bit only, and doesn't appear to have been updated since MAGIX bought it. The manual from 2013 still has Sony branding. It is a separate product that can be used standalone, and from what I've read, Samplitude has been updated to integrate with it. I'm not sure how the integration works, so maybe Kraznet can clue us in on that.inkwarp wrote:Can someone explain to me what the inclusion of soundforge mean? is it part of Sam itself or seperate? i have x3 and cannot find anything about it here.

that's all i wanted to know.
as someone posted, i suspected it was a seperate entity. it's no great shakes.
i have never tried Spectral Layers. sounds good : )
re: the aquisition of the sony stuff. i have read in a few places that magix are developing Acid and may have a new iteration next year.
it kind of makes sense, if acid is incorporated into their stuff, there is the Music Studio stuff where it might find a home. and they seem to do an awful olt of variations of movie editing and such, aimed i guess at home users. soundforge. again, i don't know where they could take it. it is a pretty mature app. so perhaps they will add that and spectral layers together.
whatever they do, they are going to have to go a long way to wreck these programs as sony did. imho. i was a bittime acid user ( combined with cooledit pro and a copy of soundforge 3 when it was in the capable hands of SonicFoundry).. anyway, we shall see.
the wave editing in SAM is already excellent. ( although i still can't work out how to slice loops from inisde the WaveEditing window). maybe the elusive mr. Kraznet will know..: )

Yes... separate entity but what what I gather, both SF and SpecraLayers both integrate well within Sam_P_X3.. after first launch the upgrader points to a new version that has this integration... oh and better ARA support...inkwarp wrote:that's all i wanted to know.

Like you I was an early adopter of the excellent original ACID in the late 1960's.. oops I mean 1998 and had SF_V4.5 I think it was... and the wonderful Cooledit>> omg how time slips us by when we have our heads in our computer

This review suggests that Soundforge includes Izotope RX 6 Elements, which doesnt seem to be the case

iZotope Elements comes with the Mac version, which isn't part of this promo, if that's what you're referencing. I think the Mastering & Repair Suite is very similar, but only works in SF Pro.VariKusBrainZ wrote:This review suggests that Soundforge includes Izotope RX 6 Elements, which doesnt seem to be the case
