i'm running xp, I have a gig of ram and a 120 gig hard drive, i'm using partition magic to partition the drive and am wondering how much free space the os side needs to breathe, or if thats even a concern.

I allocated 20 GB just to be careful, and I'm using less than 5 GB on my desktop running XP home. I've heard that 10 GB is more than enough.
