No! Earlier this year, in another thread, I repeatedly called you an idiot. Not because you were disagreeing with me, but because I actually think you are an idiot. In the case of this thread, I also felt it warranted. And, no! Not because you disagreed with me

I will only say this. There are ways and ways of protecting your property.

The best way is to treat your customers with the respect they deserve, not to treat them like criminals.

Copy protection, to me, places an undue burden onto the person who is paying you for your effort.

Even after having soundsets pirated out of existence I can still say this.

I doubt that you can make that business case to vendors to whom copy protection isn't a core competency. If it were so obvious, why do so many high end vendors choose iLok? You even admit that your product was pirated out of existence, that's what vendors who choose Pace are trying to avoid.

People will often counter here that Pace has been cracked. Maybe it has, I wouldn't know. However, the nature of the method will require that to make use of a cracked copy you will need a modified plugin or manager executable which means perceived risk on the customer's part. Consequently, it is still a deterrent to use such methods. The same is true for software like Uhe unless the pirate can solve the serial generation problem, or, and this is the big one, no customers share the serial. Now, maybe Uhe can flag such serials in future releases, but there's nothing that can be done about it being in the wild for an existing release.

The elephant in the room is that Pace is doing a better job than you guys are of convincing top vendors to use their methods.
