Hi all,

Just got a new synth and decided that tracktion was the way to go in terms of free daw's. However, I want to be able to play patches such as this one for praise and worship.

Trouble is its a mainstage patch, which is a bit awkward as I dont have a mac. is there any way to make this sort of patch work with tracktion or somewhere I could find tracktion files for the same sort of thing?

Cheers.

Certainly Mainstage patches and Traction patches are not mutually compatible, they are completely different beasts, so there's no way to do that.

Mainstage comes with all the instruments and effects of Logic, which is HEAPS. AFAIK, Traction doesn't include any instruments, but I may be wrong, someone will correct if so. But pretty much no product except Logic/Mainstage and to a lesser extent Garageband come with anywhere near as many included instruments and effects.

That said, the guy in the video is using 3rd party products, at least in part, I didn't watch the whole thing. He's using Omnisphere, which you can buy and use in Traction, it's quite expensive though which may be a factor if you're after free things.

Also, Mainstage is a tool for playing live, by setting up playlists of songs, and using controllers for instant patch changes and layering etc, and Traction is unlikely to have those kind of features he may be using. But if you're not planning on playing live, or not in a very complicated way, that may not matter.
