Sounds like (crackling noise) and looks like (LED dims) the power supply on my SubPac S2 is dying Can anyone suggest a suitable replacement power supply that I can get hold of here in the UK? I will also contact the manufacturer directly....................

If you can't get an original PSU you could get a generic one. If you don't know where to start I could help out with that. I'm interested in getting a SubPac and it'll be interesting to learn more about them.

Got a reply back within 24 hours from the manufacturer who has asked for a copy of the receipt so that they could begin a warranty claim for me. I advised that I thought it would be out of warranty (bought in July 2015) and uploaded the receipt for them. That was on Friday. Just waiting on a reply.

OUTPUT: 1.5V 1600mA 24W

The S2 has been great to get some idea of what the sub bass is doing in my mixes. I use the S2 with monitors and headphones. I am using Genelec desktop monitors in a small, untreated, bedroom. Or Sennheiser HD650 headphones. So no chance of adequate sub bass reproduction. But the S2, I think, goes a long way in helping me understand what is happening down there. I just have to make sure that I am not overdoing it with the SubPac though as it is very easy to get thin sounding mixes lacking in low end if you do. I tend to switch the SubPac on and off for a while so as not to get too used to the sub bass. Most people don't listen to music on systems that produce decent sub bass. It is very easy to over do the sub frequencies and forget about the 50Hz to 400Hz range when using the SubPac - especially if you set up the SubPac so that it is too dominant. Keep a check on sub bass levels when using the SubPac by regularly comparing with "pro" mixes.
I don't use the headphone output on the S2 as I found it too noisy. I use a Behringer Ultramatch Pro as a D/A converter to my monitors and for headphone use.
The S2 is great for general listening to music use. The closest thing I can compare it to is like being in a club or at a concert where you can really feel the low end. Kraftwerk's Minimum-Maximum sounds beautiful with the S2!

Awesome I hope you get a result for the manufacturer. If not then it should be easy enough to find an equivalent or better supply here in the UK.
