Hi folks,
What do you think of the Play-order-track feature in SX3? I wonder if it's possible to re-order parts Live, while playing..

From what I've seen so far on the Web, I don't think live re-ordering is possible, although it seems to me that would be a fairly straightforward feature to implement. At the moment, one just defines "play order parts" by selecting a range with a new special tool, then places these parts in a list. Surely it couldn't be too difficult to assign each part to a user-definable MIDI note? Or are we discussing SX 4 already?

I did get a life,once...but it was faulty, so I sent it back.

Why is it interesting? All the major host companies keep up to date with each other - any of them come out with a new gimmick, soon all of the others follow. In the same way that other companies copy Steinberg, so Steinberg copies other companies.
What's so earth-shattering about that? We all knew that anyway didn't we?

I think it's probably of most use for experimentation. I mean, unless none of your parts overlap, it's hard to see how good it's going to sound raw. On the other hand, for seeing what four bars instead of eight sounds like, it sounds perfect.
