Are those weird patch names of many factory presets supposed to ring a bell? Are they referring to songs I don't know?
Probably it's too complicated, but it would also be nice if the different tag category filters could be added up, like on many online shops, for instance fridge with a capacity of x liters by Whirlpool with freezer compartment with x stars.

Thanks for the reply. I find the scaling on Arturias drawbars the most interesting. But, simple takeover would be just fine as well. I use the word "simple" in the broadest possible sense.Urs wrote:It's one of the dark clouds on the horizon, as in "shit, someone has to eventually sit down and figure this out". I.e. we have to visualize MIDI edits on the UI and we have to do the takeover mode. I think "relative" is awkward.SJ_Digriz wrote:Urs, any chance you will ever implement a MIDI scaling or relative/takover MIDI mode for controller support? Or, is there a way to achieve this currently?
We might also eventually have to figure out how to do hardware controllers but as everything, we need to do this in puppy steps.
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

Strange thing: Like with Spire and other synths I hear an ugly grinding noise in Repro 5 when using two oscillators that are detuned by several semitones.
For instance with the Pads - Orchestral - CK New Day patch. When I play a chord on the 4th octave (it is only in that region, from the fifth octave up it is gone, below the 3rd it is also absent), it sounds ugly. First I thought maybe there is one of those effects on, so I turned them all off, no change. Is it intentional? If it were some sort of built-in saturation, why only on the 4th octave more or less?
I previously thought it might have had to do with Mulab or my old computer, but I hear it in Reaper and on my new computer as well now.
I tried Sylenth1, and there is no such grinding noise with corresponding patches. So, it can't be my computer or audio setup, either, nor my hearing.

Why not make a recording of it so we can hear it? Then we can test it against what we're hearing on our end. Maybe it's the way the patch is supposed to sound.fluffy_little_something wrote:Strange thing: Like with Spire and other synths I hear an ugly grinding noise in Repro 5 when using two oscillators that are detuned by several semitones.

I think I found out what it is: when I change osc 1 of that patch from pulse to saw, the noise is gone. When however I switch osc 2 from saw to pulse, the noise gets even louder.
It is obviously the pulse.
Still, when I do the same thing in Sylenth1, combining different pulse waves, there is no such noise.

No no, it has nothing to do with the envelopes.chk071 wrote:Maybe it's the attack phase. Spire has a very fast attack, and i guess it's the same with RePro.
P.S.: Yeah, just kidding with the changelog thing.

Tried different chips on the Tweaks page?

Hm, just checked the four filter types, of which oddly Driven shows the least amount of noise (to me driven suggests some sort of saturation).EvilDragon wrote:Tried different chips on the Tweaks page?
Again, as soon as I take that patch and double-click the Frequency control of osc 2 in order to set it to zero instead of +7, the noise is gone immediately, which suggests it should not have to do with filter modes.

There are oscillator chips, too.
But this is likely the "nature of the beast". I'm not hearing any "grinding noise" over here... audio example, please (render what you're hearing)?
