any one know how or have a site that can tell me how to optimize a comp for auido ?

Comp is short for compressor

If it's not optimised for pumping air or liquids around, it probably is optimised for audio

Do a google on 'DAW tweak "Windows XP" audio performance' and you will find for instance http://www.musicxp.net/tuning_tips.php

What it is, is just what it sounds like, heh heh
When you partion your hard drive, it's sort of like putting a moveable wall in the middle of a room, effectively spliting the room into two spaces.

So when you put a partion onto a hard drive you are simply spliting the drive into a number of sections consisting of an amount of space you feel you will need for the partion.

For instance If your hard drive is lettered as C: when you place one partion you will have two sections to chose from, so your first partion will usually be lettered D:

When partioning a drive what you usually do is place the operating system in one partion and then you would place other programs and files into the other partion(s).
