I have Cubase Elements 8, the update to 9.5 is inexpensive, however. If I update can I still use Elements 8 ? It may seem like an odd question but 9.5 has no native 32bit vst bridging.

Yes, you can. Further, you can use ANY former version of Cubase, when you update to the latest version. :) License is "backwards compatible", so to say.

That is surprising. Back when I upgraded to Elements from LE, it nullified the LE license. I never tried to install LE elsewhere, and I didn't check to see if that was permissible.

LE is LE. Elements is Elements. Of course you can't upgrade to Cubase Pro from Elements, and go on using your Elements license. The license gets upgraded to a Pro license. But, you can install and use any former version of Pro then. At least that's what i read, i never really tried to install a former version, but, according to other users, that's how it works.

Thanks.

32 Lives and jBridge run 32 bit plugins in Cubase 9.5 better than Cubase 8 or 8.5's native bit bridge.

This is probably off topic but I think you can run Elements under a Pro license - since they are separate installs you could probably run them side by side.

If you upgraded your Elements license to a Pro license, you definitely lose your Elements license.

You guys are overcomplicating things. Your Cubase Elements license is replaced by a Cubase Pro license, but you can still run Elements if you have the eLicenser connected to that computer.

Yes, the Elements license is replaced by the Pro license but the Pro license will still allow Elements to run. Just as the Pro license will work for older versions of Cubase it also works for 'lesser' versions too.

That's strange, but, good to know. :)
