Okay, here you go. I'd also appreciate if you could point me to the link of your audio demo so I can compare the two so I can hear the difference.
Here is the audio clip playing C4-E4-G4 with all FX off and noise turned down to zero.

Here is the span image. Is this what yours looks like?

It doesn't seem nearly as bad as I initially thought. The switch from Mulab to Reaper cut the CPU load to about 1/3rd. Together with the multicore mode, which works fine, CPU load is not wild at all, like up to 10% per instance when playing chords. (My CPU is the Ryzen 1500X, which has only 4 cores.)egbert101 wrote:Something to consider: Repro's enormous CPU usage might mean you have to increase your DAW's buffer size.

No I'm not. I looked inside the cubase piano roll when I played this. I played C4-E4 and G4.fluffy_little_something wrote:I think you are on the 5th octave.wagtunes wrote:Okay, here you go. You want me to go down an octave? I'll go down an octave.

Never mind. I found your links.
I hear nothing. I certainly don't hear grinding. Does anybody hear grinding in those demos?

Your photo also shows a bump below the chord itself, same frequency range.wagtunes wrote:Here it is down an octave

Okay, now at least I understand what it is you're hearing. That's the detuning. It's not a bug and there's nothing wrong with that sound. Not to my ears and I'm sure not to anybody else's here who is listening to the same thing we're listening to.fluffy_little_something wrote:Your photo also shows a bump below the chord itself, same frequency range.wagtunes wrote:Here it is down an octave

You'll have to eat it without me. I'm done. When people make up things to hear that's where I cut my losses, pick up my marbles, and go home. Because this is a battle you can't win.david.beholder wrote:Please man, don't let them stop. I still have some corn in a bucket.chk071 wrote:I hear some teeth grinding in this thread.
Enjoy the rest of this "debate" over "grinding sounds" without me.
I have a synth to make patches for.
