Something to consider: Repro's enormous CPU usage might mean you have to increase your DAW's buffer size.

It doesn't seem nearly as bad as I initially thought. The switch from Mulab to Reaper cut the CPU load to about 1/3rd. Together with the multicore mode, which works fine, CPU load is not wild at all, like up to 10% per instance when playing chords. (My CPU is the Ryzen 1500X, which has only 4 cores.)

No I'm not. I looked inside the cubase piano roll when I played this. I played C4-E4 and G4.

Okay, now at least I understand what it is you're hearing. That's the detuning. It's not a bug and there's nothing wrong with that sound. Not to my ears and I'm sure not to anybody else's here who is listening to the same thing we're listening to.
