P6 has a discrete SSM based filter doesn't it?
I'm assuming Repro is modelling P5 rev3 Curtis and not the nicer P5 rev2 SSM. Even so, Repro-5 seems much less harsh than my Rev2 (which I'm also selling).
Let me do educated guess: filter wise SSM2040 has similar topology to CEM3320 and DSI Pro 6 filter board is some standard op-amps, so it should be closer to 3320 - which is simple set of building blocks - rather than to LP only 2040. Also vintage P5s are very different even within one revision, not like vintage Moogs but still.

May be SSM2040 has different resonance values - that's why

But in general I guess Rev2 has it's fame for VCO detune (SSM VCO instability), that gives chorusier sound during the doubling, rather than for significant difference in filter / mixer behavior.

Plus there P6 has HP which is also adding harshness over any P5.
Murderous duck!

lol sorry to confuse, by my Rev2 I mean new Curtis based Prophet Rev2 :D

I think I got you right. :P
Btw I expect to see more P6 and P5 on a market sooner, but don't think there would be significant impact on prices. Still lot of people want hardware units.

I am :hihi:
Were there lots of distorted guitars in the 90's? I have no clue because I have always listened to very few, select genres where guitars like that are missing. I don't listen to the radio, so I am spared accidental exposure :hihi:

Getting back to Repro. I remember the first time I tried Repro 1, the Jaws effect used to make the CPU meter shoot up like crazy. Now with Reaper I can play any patch that uses Jaws and the other effects as well at the same time, the CPU hardly moves from idle, an increase from 2 (idle) to 3% :hihi: Sorry U-he should I have written Repro is a hog, obviously it had to do with my previous DAW

You’d have to have lived in a cave to avoid this one...

RePro is actually not too bad on CPU usage, considering it’s quality. HQ is only needed on some sorts of sounds and the MC button seems to work fine for offloading the work among cores.

Does the MC button relate to multiple voices? Just wondering because in the monophonic Repro 1 I see no MC button...

Um, no, not in a cave, but I know how to protect myself from modern music :hihi: I don't know that song, but I have heard the band name before...

The DJ's MC is gone in build 6794.

And on an entirely different topic, see here for 17 free Repro-5 presets from Hollo.

Was playing around with the Repro 5 demo a bit, and made this pop synth bass patch:

Not sure yet how to interpret Reaper's colorful meters, so the patch might be too loud or too quiet, no idea, so be careful just in case 8)
