and now I'm back I totally out of date.

Questions.

I own Cubase 6 for p.c. Can a get a new copy based on my old purchase for Mac Book?

I have a Presonus Audiobox USB96. Can I get Windows XP drivers from ANYWHERE (yes, I'm aware Prosonus don't support XP)?

How far had Studio one progressed since I last looked at it(which was the year it came out!)?

MANY THANKS

Let be the first to say... Update your OS. You saw that coming didn't you? Sorry.

As for S1, it's gone from "power without complexity" to "lots of power, and complexity". There's little you can't do with it but it is a handful to navigate.

One thing... There's a demo for just about every DAW so you can drive yourself crazy trying to figure out what you want to use. Or as the denizens of this forum are want to do... Drive everyone crazy asking that the feature from one DAW be added to the other while explaining why life without said feature is simply impossible. ;-)

You can always try the later drivers. The only thing that changed a while back was the wrapper. If they install, they should work. Not guaranteeing that mind you.

Yes, obviously. Just connect your eLicenser and install Cubase 6 along with the latest version of the eLicenser Control Center, and you're good to go.

I strongly recommend upgrading to Cubase Pro 9.5. The workflow has been improved greatly since Cubase 6, and both CPU and graphics performance are much better, specially on Mac OS. Tons of feature requests have been implemented, and the DAW is currently in the process of being completely modernized.

Studio One has progressed by leaps and bounds since it's first tentative steps on the daw scene back in 2009, major updates have been significant and have included some of the most requested features like global undo / mixer fader undo (an option to bypass fader undo) and even the ability to undo VST instruments changes on VST Instrument and Effects. These features were introduced in 3.5...

The current version of Studio One 3.5.4 is more CPU efficient with it's updated buffer system, feature rich and accessible from any angle you want to approach it from with great workflow. Some things need updated such as Impact, Sample One and Mojito, however there's a new synth Mai Tai and updated Presence, and suite of new effect processing devices...just to scratch the surface.. As has already been said, download it and make your own mind up...

And just to add, you can sequence in steptime recoding mode which is pretty handy for programming.

Step sequencing? Most DAWs have had that since the 80s. :hihi:
Cubase has mixer undo too!

Try telling Propellerheads that, cause Reason 10 doesn't even have step sequencing, not from the piano roll that is. :hihi:

In any case Studio One 1.0 and 2.0 didn't have it, but from 3.0, that changed. ( Hoping for tweaks to that in functionality in the next version though, such as setting preset rest periods between notes, as that's a manual process. It's possible to set a macro key to it though rather than clicking the rest button.
