Studio One 3.0 / 3.5 gui's is like one of those daws, that's like Marmite, love it or hate it, but really for me...it's rather boring, uninspiring. For some they don't notice it, for others it's like loading up a 3d program, looking at a 3d viewport and not having a clue in what to create and quiting the program.. For me...music is very much a visual thing...the two intertwine... and my mood changes from day to day... and so does what I like to look at.... be that natural history or something more sci fi..ish

I thought it kinda funny, that this thread rolled across the forum desert without a reply like that rolling bush thing, tumbleweed
.
This isn't a photoshop animation or a series of concept designs, they are functional overlays believe it or not. Maybe the 4000 views of a particular thread indicate that all the Studio One users who browse this forum grabbed the one's I posted some months back..

Aww... Kidding. I'd be non-plussed as well.
I think this definitely looks more colorful and inviting. Nice job. I didn't know it could be done.
But my bigger issues with S1 are the massive number of things on screen at any given time; tiny icons that require too much precision with the mouse; menus with too many, and often barely related commands; and generally stuffing features wherever they can be fit. After two years of solid use, I still found that the visual clutter impeded my workflow and even worse, my creative flow.
To me S1's interface is too often like dragging an entire tool chest to the party when all you needed was a screwdriver.
I also much prefer a non-modal workflow where you select an object, right-click and are presented a list of relevant actions rather than switching tools all the time. But that's just the way I work. I know many people prefer the tools.
But again, kudos for a friendlier vibe.

If you're looking for a way to modify Studio One's interface within the program itself, it's impossible from Presonus's side, I don't even think it's possible vie it's scripting language. The system I'm using is only available on the PC side, whilst Mac users are...left to find their alternatives..if they exist.
On some skins, I've pretty much removed all non essential text elements from the transport bar so Studio One can look even more simplified than how it currently is.
There are things of Studio One I don't need to know like the number of days of recording I have left, hence why I blank that out.
I don't have much issue with the right click tools menu myself, it's filtered in an intelligent way from where ever you right click and it does give you access to the next layer down in advanced features. And be low that I think Macro's would be next. EditorKeys dedicated querty keyboards you can buy can actually help cut down somewhat in needing to access the deeper menus and icons. They did have non-backlit ones previously going for £20 a few years ago.

Looks almost like you’re using window blinds on it. I haven’t used that in years, I wonder how well it would work now days. Not saying that’s how you did it, just looks like that.

Watch that master output level ! Studio One doesn't respond well to master channel clipping. Things get crunchy.

It's not Windowblinds, but I can see how you related to that. It's been a very long time since I used Windowblinds... I can't remember if it utilised the Z-Buffer but it's this aspect which is being used with a little but powerful free utility I discovered way back in 2015, which wasn't really thought of being designed for I don't think.pekbro wrote:Looks almost like you’re using window blinds on it. Studio One has by default a pretty flat GUI, but that doesn't need to be the case.VariKusBrainZ wrote:Which bit of the GUI is 3D?
