Hi,
I just tried the Dunk StepSeq Midi tool. It's awsome.
But why is it that it always sync 1 bpm slower than host tempo ?
If host tempo is 95 bpm, StepSeq is 94....if host 180 bpm, Step Seq is 179..etc...
I am using Energy Xt inside Sonar..
tia
Dunk StepSeq sync weirdness

wow! nice to hear about someone who's actually using it !
I had a quick look and it seems like it may be something to do with the VST-DX adapter or Sonar itself.
I grabbed the Sonar 3 demo and tried it with the FLStudio DXi, with EnergyXT inside FL and my plugin inside EnergyXT () - and it worked okay - bpm seemed to match up fine.
However, when I tried it inside EnergyXT which was wrapped to DXi using the Cakewalk VST-DX wrapper (v4.4.2) then it was indeed off by 1 bpm!
Having at look with Tobybear's very useful Kondor plugin (tells you all kinds of VST info) and it seems Sonar (or the wrapper) is sending a tempo of 103 bpm as 102.9997393 etc.
I guess my plugin is truncating the bpm instead of rounding it to the nearest integer - sorry!
I'm afraid I don't use Delphi any more so can't update the plugin as it is
But redoing those MIDI plugins has been on my TODO list for ages now - along with actually finishing Scrubber!
Hopefully I can get something together for you and anyone else using the plugs in the next couple of months, but I've been really busy lately. If you're subscribed to the Smex newsletter then you should get news through when there is an update.
Sorry I couldn't be more help! It's a good kick in the butt for me to redo them tho'
regards,
dunk

One has to be a complete idiot not using these wonderful plugs !
Too bad about the trunctation..Hmm..Have to try to find a workaround
Come on ! Redo the MIDI plugs !
Pliiiz ?
Is it possible to "evolve" the plug even more ?
Would be great to have the option of drawing an envelope as well. And maybe the playlist could be a bit longer ?
No biggies...just wondering
I am on the Smex newslist. I can hardly wait !
thanx for replying!
