Ah, that’s still there? I asked about this a few years ago, Rob himself was also here on the forums to check it out, and I think I traced the problem down to some LFO unibolar/bipolar setting... but I really don’t remember what was the end result of the discussion. Anyway, this was one of the things that gave me the unfortunate feeling that SM lives in this kind of a ”constant beta state”, and while I absolutely love the synth and the sounds, it’s weird bugs like this (which don’t get a clear resolution even after a few years) that make me keep a little distance. Another example is the persistent red lines in the interface. Although it’s not a showstopper by any means, it makes everything feel a little unfinished, unpolished and ”beta” to me.

On the other hand, I’m very glad about the quick fixes to (some) bugs, and active communication here with the developer. I’m really hoping to use SM more in future productions! Oh and Merry Christmas everyone :)

ok I'm not usually the preset kinda guy, but I AM a fairly tidy kinda guy. I'm trying to neaten up my presets, and in the process realised there's 3 different BigTone subheadings... BIGTONE, BigTone and BigTone Studios. Also Xenos Soundworks and Xenos from KVR
Obviously these presets aren't editable with a text editor, how can I fix this so 5 names can become 2?

also, i'd like to get rid of the 'GENRE' - "Tran" i really don't know what somebody was smoking THAT night.
Managed to delete "Reggea" before my Rasta friends spotted it. :P

also, as I'm mouse clicking to select a preset, I'm finding the selection region for preset names seems to be off.
as i click on the bottom half of a preset name, it loads the preset below the one I'm trying to click on. Quite annoying.

lol
I brought this up to Bulent yearsssss ago. I think he added Reggae but I guess since some people were using Reggea he couldn't delete it. If I remember correctly.

That's my impression of SM too.

Mine too, sadly.

Yep, sadly exactly. It's a beast synth, but always feel unfinished and unreliable...

Jesus you kids are lazy fuks.

Mr. B normalizing the presets would be a huge mistake, it will become bloat and unnecessary and sometimes you want to overdrive synthmaster into external plugins, and if they can't detune by half a step to match thier tracks that's because they were not raised right. They want to take the life out of the instrument and "progress" down the slow methodical calculus equation to 0. They want lowest common denominator prefabbed samples is what they want. let them go buy them.

I am curious to know which plugins that you have bought (not freeware) from any established developer (not a kvr hobbyist synthedit developer)
that has these issues that go uncorrected for
Years?

I checked this out again, and yes, the problem is indeed caused by the osc pitch being modulated by a unipolar LFO. To fix it, either set the LFO1 pitch modulation to zero in the mod matrix, or switch LFO1 to bipolar mode. I have no idea how something like this could slip into the final patches, and if it was a problem with patch programming or something in SM or both, but anyway, it's pretty easy to fix. :)

I'm only answering this question becauseI talked trash, and I feel obligated, and I'm only going to answer it once. the Instruments I use are as follows... Arcsyn, Ace, Bazille, Dune2, Synthmaster, giest2, and Blofeld. That takes care of every need if you have the external effects you want. You're welcome.

Got the update to 2.9...it works like a charm now. Thanks for the Christmas treat!

I want to let it go, but I will just say that I never got a resolution to the situation I had with SynthMaster crashing the host DAW upon loading. Kinda disappointing from KV331’s side of the table.

Still love ya, just bummed about the apparent lack of follow through.

Cheers to 2018 and much prosperity ahead!

What Daw? Works fine here in S1

Post

Hasn’t worked (been crashing respective hosts) since I did the last update before this 2.9.

Tried both AU/VST within Logic, Mainstage, Live, Reaper...crashed them all each and every time. Didn’t do it with Synthmaster One though.

Post

I've not seen any reports from mac users with that problem on those daws. Maybe other users can give their experiences.
