I have a Guitar Rig demo I installed yesterday, and have a problem getting the plugin to work while I'm playing.

I've had similar problems with other similar plugins in the past - the effect works on audio playback, but not while I'm playing live.

I have it as an insert, have followed all the instructions, but no joy. Could it be an audio card/routing problem? do I have the right settings for monitoring via SX etc.? What am I doing wrong? I'm pretty new to this, so any idiot-proof help would be much appreciated.

I have Cubase SX, M-Audio Audiophile 2496 soundcard and Win XP.

Not sure, but you might need to have the track record-enabled. Try selecting the track.

I think, by default, Cubase does the right thing for monitoring, but you could try toggling the Direct Monitoring switch under Devices:Device Setup:VST Multitrack.

Had the same problem and found a solution:

You have to set Direct Monitoring off and click the Monitor button in the Guitar Rig track.

That did the trick for me!
