For The Love Of God...How Do You Create A Wav That Loops?

Okay, however Hexeract determines the root note of a sample being imported - it is not from the root note embedded in the sample itself.

I took a new sample and tried importing. Hexeract played it way above the root note. So I imported that sample into VSampler and changed the root note to two and then three octaves higher - Hexeract still played back at the same pitch upon import.

Just to confirm, I opened the original in Anomaly - played back at the correct pitch, then opened the test file with the changed root note - played back at the pitch the root note was changed to.

So Hexeract is ignoring all data from the imported WAV file and must be using some internal method of determining pitch.

Not much of help as the problem remains: Hexeract can''t read your loop points out.
Never heard of it before today ...

Well, now you have. A crappy sample player.

Working rule of thumb for dealing with Hexeract....

Musical samples import either correctly or one or two octaves above the root note. It is hit and miss....

Non-musical samples - typically sounds I work with - import 3 octaves above the root note. I discovered this by sampling one of the sounds I am currently working on at 036, 048 and 060. 048 played back correctly, though cropped, at a 1 octave decrease in Hexeract.

If they are using this to showcase HISE as a Kontakt open source competition, they should at least get sample import correct.

You don't want to loop that!
I love Vai, but as orchestral composer and descendant of Paganini, he should study Paganinis concertos... Too much virtuosity showcase for my taste and little to no dialog with the orchestra - what a waiste.
Paganini couldn't play guitar, but he could compose...;-)

Niccolò Paganini? He was a guitarist as well.
