That's not called efficient. If simplest thing were efficient, all professional software should be like MS paint.

Yes, it actually is called efficiency in UI design, and in any design actually. The purpose of an UI is to achieve the desired task as simply as quickly as possible, avoiding unnecessary clutter, distractions and needless searching for stuff.

Obviously comparing efficiency is only meaningful between applications which are designed to perform the same task.

Studio One has a very work effective UI, but it does lack colour for me. Therefore, I would personally like an improvement in the aesthetics department.
