ive just done a clean install and putting all my music programs back on my PC..........
I run Cubase sx 2.2 , terratec DMX6fire soundcard ,pentium 2.8 with 1 gig DDRram and was wondering what would be the ideal buffer size to run in my ASIO control panel , I had it running perfectly before my Format and can't remember what size had it set at.
Also whenever i open a cubase project i get a box saying "samplerate has changed to 44100" which it never used to happen how do i get it back to 48000 ? as my soundcard master clock is set to 48000 hz
Cubase......ASIO Buffer size question

I'm computerless at the moment, so I've no manual handy, but I seem to remember having mine set to 128 (although it may have been 64?). Although it depends on how low you want your latency to go etc.
As for the samplerate - does SX still have the default project (like VST used to have a def.arr). Maybe you need to check your load up project settings, as most defaults on hosts would be 44.1KHz. On the other hand that also reminded me of a problem very similar I used to have with my Aardvark card and Cubase VST constantly fighting each other for different sample rates - it would swap from 44.1 to 36 at peculiar times. From what I remember, I needed to set Cubase to "run in background" - otherwise every time I switched to the soundcard routing/mixing page, it swapped samplerate. I also needed to get an updated driver. Just those two things solved it permanently. Have you tried reinstalling your soundcard driver again? Possibly its driver installed wrongly? Not sure that's what's doing it, but worth a go.

Thanks for the reply kritikon i wasn't sure at first if 128 maybe a bit CPU hungry but ill leave it set at 128 for a while and see how i get on , yes i think ill install my soundcard drivers again and see how i get on....cheers
