East West play has huge latency

I just downloaded EastWest composer cloud and loaded up an Harp. Hit a key... and 1 second later it plays a little plong. Hit some more notes and everything is delayed like 1 whole second. What! never experienced anything as sluggish. Something must be wrong here. Suggestions?

How much is the latency on your sound card?

I had the same problem. I solved it by going into Settings and changing the Buffer Size to a lower number (384 samples, 8.71 ms.) The samples played back immediately after that.
However, I still get other playback issues with certain instruments in Play, and changing the buffer size doesn't appear to make any difference for that.

Standalone Play? Change your driver to ASIO. It defaults to Windows Audio.

Turned out that it was only a problem in the Play stand-alone that was set to "standard driver and 5000ms something". A strange default! But I changed it and it worked out ok.thejonsolo wrote:Standalone Play? Change your driver to ASIO. It defaults to Windows Audio.
