1. Which Echo soundcard do you have?
**Standard Mia**
2.Which driver version are you using?
**6.08**
3. What OS(es) are you running?
**Win XP service pack 1**
4. What are your system specs?
**Athlon 2000XP, 512 meg ddr sdram**
5. Do you encounter any problems when using your Echo soundcard with eXT? (If 'yes' please specify your problems.)
**Glitching and noise when I adjust soft synths**
6. Do you encounter similar problems with other sequencers?
**This only occurs using eXT standalone. When I use eXT as an insert in Cubase SX 1.06 it works flawlessly**
7. Do you have any other soundcards? **Yes**
If 'yes' which one?
**MAudio Transit USB***
if 'yes' do you have similar problems with these other soundcards?
**I do not experience the same problem with the Transit USB, it works flawlessly in Standalone eXT**
8. How does your Echo soundcard work when using the generic asio4all-driver instead of the original Echo driver within eXT?
**When using the asio4all driver instead of the Mia driver, the glitching and noise disappears and the card works flawlessly**
9. Does it make any significant difference when you change the output(s) you use to Purewave?
**I had no noticeable change when I adjusted the purewave settings**

Jens, as this topic's bubbled to the top again, did you in the meantime approach Echo about the issue?
I've seen rumours in other threads that Jorgen might well be recoding asio.dll which might solve the problems. It might be an issue with the OpenASIO/Echo combination - I haven't verified this with other software that use OpenASIO e.g. TobyBear's MiniHost. Anyone else?
Heh, XP SP2 makes no difference - not that I was expecting it to.
Cheers,
Inigo

Inigo, I haven't contacted Echoaudio up to now because I still hoped that this thread got filled a bit more.
There's still two reports from users missing which wrote in other thread that they have problems with thier Echo-card and eXT.
Anyway: these two new reports confirm very well the common problem again so I think it's enough now and I will contact Echo within the next days.
About the asio rewrite:
yes, I thought about this as well but I think the problems we have suggest that there's something about the Echo-drivers at least not perfect. If they manage to fix it it might affect the overall performance of the drivers which wouldn't be a bad thing. But after all I'm just assuming.

Jens (Jorgen you might find this interesting too),
Just out of interest this evening I've been running energyXT as a VST hosted in an instance of TobyBear's MiniHost using the native Echo ASIO drivers. A nice combination as has been mentioned elsewhere - really simple and neat how you can create multiple instances of MiniHost with individual plugins and settings
I can report that there are none of the problems of glitching that we've experienced using Standalone and Echo's drivers. Have you had a chance to try this combination out at some point too?
Since MiniHost uses OpenASIO I guess there's not a conflict with OpenASIO and the Echo ASIO drivers. That does point more to a problem with Standalone's ASIO implementation so I do hope Jorgen's recode of asio.dll will help all us unfortunate Indigo users.
Cheers,
Inigo

Not sure if I was having the same problem as these people, but I have an Echo Layla, and one of the drivers in the pull down is ASIO Echo WDM. Selecting this driver causes my entire system to slow to a halt and necessitates a reboot. Other driver choices seem to work fine. I had to do Jorgen's trick of editing the energyxt.ini to fix the problem since it was impossible to get back to the setup page.

Echo have just posted new drivers (6.11) for the Indigo range. Get 'em here.
I've not had a chance to install them and see if there are improvements with eXT but here's hoping...
[edit]
Having last week upgraded from a reliable standard Indigo to an Indigo io I've now been left with a second apparently dead unit - the first one was d.o.a. and the second has today ceased to be recognized when inserted having worked fine for a few days. Grrrr
Be good to know if anyone has any success with the new drivers in the meantime though

Cheers
