Go on, treat yourself, you deserve it. Besides, learning one will support learning on the other. It's probably better to have two new instruments to learn at the same time because they will reinforce each other.

You have that readily available to paste into people's threads. :hihi:

Well, the year is almost over and I guess it's time to look back and cherish what you bought. Even though there's probably some good end of the year deals coming, we might as well get going.

So what did I get? Not much fortunately.
At some time bought Waves Kramer Pie when it was super cheap.
Waves sales were quite irresistible so at one point I also got Waves Tune RealTime. That I bought more plugins even though I promised not to, kind of made me depressed, and to alleviate my sadness I also got Brauer Motion. That made me feel a bit better.
When it was available I added the SoundToys plate to my plugins. That was not payware so it does not count probably.
And then I also got Sandman Pro on a recent sale.

Also sold off all my PSP plugins as they went iLok and to balance things a bit.

That's it, not bad I'd say.

Oh sh1t this is not the I will promise to buy more gear thread! :o I guess I'm out then. As my setup is complete no new plugins next year for me.

Are you sure you can keep that promise? The end of the year sales are incoming.

i should be fine, its very doubtful the things on my "to buy" list will be reduced to a point my bank balance is happy with :hihi:

Well, I made it through 2017 with only one >$20 purchase: Versilian Chamber Orchestra Pro in the charity auction (a great library and developer!) The HaRd MoDe game helped me appreciate my unique setup and approach. Next year, one-per-category: synth, midi, fx, samples, hardware, tuts. Thanks for the idea and inspiration, el-bo!

I ended up buying the Reaktor 6 upgrade as my Wildcard, which is something I'd already wanted long before this thing started. Aside from looking for a replacement portable midi keyboard (Mine broke a few months back), the music stuff I am now interested in is the same as I was interested in, last year. So, nothing lost

Never make a promise you cannot keep :)

The key here is to actually use what you buy, not keep it like furniture.

Never post in a thread without bothering to read it

Thank you for starting the thread, el-bo, it has helped me to avoid quite a few impulse purchases on software that I probably wouldn't have used much.
Not even a Wildcard! You went 'MoNk-MoDe', man

Congrats! And to Michael L, also

I would say that this thread helped keep me focused on the phenomenon of GAS. I know I avoided purchases both before and after I gave in and bought Synthmaster in the summer. No idea how I'll do this year, but I know there will be no big-ticket items. As for plugins... doubtful.
