I'm trying to not come off as a jerk here. Probably won't succeed. --
This purchase process feels really borked to me. And I avoid giving out my CC number unless it's totally unavoidable. And the purchase doesn't have the ability for me to specify that this is a gift. I've aborted buying through KVRDeals for this. Can we still get the deal via PayPal for $10?

There really is nothing I can do about the PayPal problem. It is caused by PayPal, not by KVR.
I have placed a warning about the 48 hour delay at the very top of the Fathom product page.
In addition, KVR has has a full page warning about it when you try to use PayPal.
So if you use PayPal you are doing so at your own risk!
I just bought the product using paypal to see for myself how bad the problem is. The delay actually ended up being about 2 hours, not 48 hours. Also, you have to check your paypal email and approve the purchase when they send you notification.
If you miss the PayPal email and do not approve it, then you will be waiting a lot longer than two days.

Another question that's probably been answered already. Can Fathom load the Galbanum Architecture wavetables? I can't remember which formats i have cos i bought them years ago.

It can not load an entire wave table directly from another product.
However it can load any WAV single cycle into any Wave Table slot.
So if you can save waves out of Galbanum to WAV format then you can load them into Fathom.
In the next release I will try to add the feature to load the entire wave table from a folder of 16 WAV samples.

Can I ask a stupid question? It appears that I bought Fathom in August and promptly forgot about it. Never downloaded, installed, or activated it. I probably bought it on my phone while I was at work, then got distracted and forgot all about it. Am I to understand that what I bought four months ago was 1.0, and now you’re selling the 2.0 upgrade? And it is only $5 if I buy it today, but it’ll be more if I wait until tomorrow?
Not trying to sound rude, in case that is what you read into my question. I honestly just want to make sure I understand the lay of the land before I buy the upgrade. Maybe I’ll even install it this time!

Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

First thing deastman... this is NOT a stupid question.. however forgetting you got it ain't the smartest thing ...deastman wrote:Can I ask a stupid question? Second... no way does this sound rude... a simple very reasonable question.
I only looked at it yesterday and checked out the mono free version...
today, how could I pass this opportunity up.
As the dev has pointed out, very honestly, that he has some work to do...
but the ground work seems solid enough to create some very interesting sounds...
And there I was saying no more synths for a few months at least!
Don't we just love our toys/tools!

Maybe you should be more specific in this statement.bungle wrote:KVR Marketplace is a mess, i will wait till you put it on sale on your website.
I had never used KVR Marketplace before and all went fine.. email with serial number and download link came as quick as I could open my email>> however I did not use PayPal. If the problem is you using PayPal, this is out of both the dev's and KVR's control! You really should be more specific...

deastman, if you bought it then you don't need to upgrade, you just need to download the purchased version. Check your emails, there is an email with a download link. Download and install that. Then on the Fathom website you download the latest update. To unzip it you need a password. There's a password given to you in a different email for it.
If you're on an email client/website with search, search for "Fathom" and you should see them unless it landed in spam.

Fathom loads the Wav32 version. It attempts to load Wav64 but it does not interpret them correctly and makes the plugin unstable. It can produce extremely loud sounds and can crash.mutantdog wrote:Another question that's probably been answered already. Can Fathom load the Galbanum Architecture wavetables? If you bought it years ago you likely have the 32-bit version as there were very few apps that could handle 64-bit.

yellowmix, I will make sure the next release can handle both 32 and 64 bit WAV.
deastman, bungle,
Yes that is all correct. There have been so many new features in the last few months that I decided to bump the version to 2.0, also since the smaller numbers were just getting out of hand.
The new year’s sale extends through tomorrow January 2. I’ve been surprised by the response so I will extend the sale here and on the web site through the end of the week, but the price will have to go up a little, maybe to $10. But if you want it at the current sale price you have until the end of tomorrow.
MAC OSX
I'm able to run fine on OSX 10.11, Is anyone else having trouble loading the plugin AU or VST on Mac OSX?
CPU
I am the first one to admit that the CPU issue needs to be handled.
But it will take some time since the heart of the audio processor and how it connects to modulations will have to be completely rewritten in Vector friendly code.
That being said I think you will find that it has easily enough horse power to do anything within reason. Some of my demo songs for the web site have over 20 tracks of Fathom with very complex signal flow, many filters, effects and modulations on each instance. And I can run the whole thing in Ableton all tracks at once with the transport playing without any problems or any audio glitches of any kind.
The only time you will run out of CPU is if you are intentionally trying to test it, or if you are trying to play Franz Liszt on your synth.

Paypal is awkward but it works. I chose Paypal, got the invoice 13 hours ago, clicked on it to pay, Fathom was in my Marketplace account, downloaded and installed on OSX 11. Most important, it sounds great and is fun to figure out.

9:45 pm on the west coast. Sale is already over?FathomSynth wrote:People, I so apologize for the email delay, I was stupidly checking my main email every day thinking that gmail would route the support email to the main one, (not).
I should respond now in 24 hours.
Yes, the note cutting problem on the MuLab DAW is serious and has to be fixed NOW. I'll be doing that today. I will let you know as soon as the release is available.
Has anyone seen the note cutting problem in any DAW's other than MuLab?
Also, please, everyone email me which DAW you are using, even if everything is working, so I can get an idea of what coverage we have and which DAW's I need to add to our system test list.
2 bug reports for 250 downloads seems incredibly low (even by my quality standard). Are people trying the synth and just not liking it, and then not using it? If you decide to use the synth regularly for your music email me so I know what the real user count is. If you think it "sucks", tell me, since this will control where I focus. I have over 30 years experience fixing software bugs (so I can take it).
For those of you who need to start using the poly version I will create a page on the web site only for KVR users who can get the pro poly version for $15 instead of $45. We need to charge a little for the first poly release if I am to work full time to add the next batch of critical features, listed in the next post.
Edit: nevermind, found the buy link on here.
