Will RC be able to handle the bigger voicing chords like neo soul and gospel?

I think RC can do that just fine. Can you share an example of a chord that you’re having trouble getting RC to do, and we can take a stab at making it work?

well neo soul and church music(contemporary mostly urban) dive into crazy 7-10 finger chords since anything you press sound sweet on a rhodes :)

crazy stuff like inverted 5 chords over 1, triads over tritone, etc..

I have a piano, but, I don't play.. all I can say about this thread.. lol

Open the chord browser, right-click on any of the names and press "New Chord." Select the notes you want in that chord and save it as a new preset.

There are two ways to use such complex chords.

1) You can define your own complex chords in the Chords browser. You can even name it as you want:

Right click on any chords and select "New Chord" as padillac suggested.

2) You can open the keyboard on the master track, and select the notes you want:

The above chord is a Em11 with a custom voicing.
Please note: the current version incorrectly identifies this chords as E11sus4 which is slightly wrong. The bug was fixed as I was writing this reply. If this bug prevents you from working, please let me know and I'll send you an update with the fix.

In a next beta version it will be possible to add additional chord notes to voicings, that are not in the chord. E.g. when editing a major chord voicing, you could add 7th, 9th, etc notes. Which can be used even locally in a single phrase or just in one track.

Thanks,
Attila

^^ i was about to report ..
after selecting notes by mouse "G" (in this case) was always get dropped..

and for the next beta = :hyper:

Post

Yes, G was dropped, this is what I did not understand first. It was a silly bug which does not influence other chords, only 11sus4 as it had two notes 4th and 11th one octave away...

Post

nice... but question lol....?
what do you do with the chords in the browser?

Post

Drag them onto the master track to set which chord is used at that place in time. Then you can drag a phrase generator to a track at that spot and it’ll play the phrase with that chord setting.

Post

The Chords Browser is mainly for defining chords, it does not provide any useful functionality, other than dragging chords.
Just like you don't use the Variations or Scale browser, they represent the database of available variations and scales.
Some time in the future the Scale browser will include a scale look-up tool.
