Kontakt Choirs: Soundiron Olympus vs 8Dio Requiem Pro vs Fluffy Audio Dominus vs Any Others?

Hi everybody,
I'm aiming to buy a full Orchestral Choir (for Kontakt 5) in the next few weeks, and was wondering which ones you have used, which ones you'd recommend and which ones you're also lusting after!
Here are the three highly regarded libraries that I've been checking out, but feel free to suggest any others that you like:
https://soundiron.com/collections/choir ... onic-choir
https://8dio.com/instrument/requiem-professional/
https://fluffyaudio.com/shop/dominuschoir/
I might be able to pick one of them up at a sales price around Christmas / New Year, but at full price, Fluffy Audio's Dominus Choir is a fair bit cheaper than either Olympus or Requiem Professional.
Another consideration for me is that 8Dio;s Requiem Pro is a fair bit smaller in terms of GB requirements on my HDD compared to Dominus, and certainly compared to Olympus.
Although I don't make a lot of choral / orchestral music, I'd like a decent library that can last me about 10 years or so without replacement. To my mind, these three all fit the bill (and they may even be updated in the future etc).
TBH, sound wise I prefer Requiem Pro.
But Dominus certainly sounds lovely too, Fluffy Audio are a decent company who seem to fly under the radar (and I have a couple of their other libraries) and it is about 30% cheaper!
Lastly, I have bought and enjoy using Realivox's ''The Ladies'' very much. But I just want an additional 'big choir' sound too.
Any thoughts much appreciated.
Cheers,
DW

To be clear...
Different choirs fall into different categories. Fluffy Audio Dominus is definitely a more intimate choir and is more comparable to Insolidus from 8DIO. On the other hand Requiem Pro is loosely related to Requiem Light from Soundiron. And Soundiron Olympus would be a larger more epic sounding choir than any of those as would be Lacrimosa.
Needs and price could be part of the consideration. On sale right now is pretty much everything listed above. Some sales end today, some tomorrow, and some the last day of the month.
Also, are you locked into a Kontakt library?
In three days Hollywood Choirs will be released. You don't need an iLok device but you do need an iLok account to use it. And its host is Play 6 (likely to be released the same day as the choirs). On sale right now, however is Symphonic Choirs which is really good and includes a boys choir. It is high on my bang for the buck list, but not everyone wants to deal with a new host (currently Play 5).
Also on sale but much more expensive is Strezov Sampling. Their bundles cover a wide range and the sound is rock solid. But again, it depends on your needs.
I saw you want a big choir sound. I don't think the gentler choirs will fill an epic sound. Even with Symphonic Choirs you might need to add Voices of the Apocalypse (can be bundled and on sale currently).
If you go with Requiem Pro today, it can be had for under $300 with the CYB40 coupon. I think that is a happy medium between Dominus and say Lacrimosa. Plus you get soloists!

Thanks thejonsolo for the useful and in depth reply.
I probably prefer the more intimate styles of Dominus and Requiem Pro. I'll certainly check out those two other choir libraries you recommended.
Although those sales are on now, I'm skint until around 6th December so I'll be hoping one of those libraries comes up cheaply again soon.
As for Kontakt, although I'm by no means tied to it, I like using it and I also have some useful scripts for it.
Cheers,

Thanks Mileko for the headsup on your sale, but tbh I'm skint until next week and I'm also going to probably aim to get Dominus or Requiem Pro in a Christmas sale (hopefully) later this month, as I prefer their sound by a small margin over Olympus.
Cheers

Hi axb312,
I haven't yet bought a choir library: I was very impressed with the quality of Fluffy Audio's Dominus but, after much consideration, decided that I didn't truly need (nor would often use) a latin-words choir library, despite the tempting sale price over Christmas.
Requiem Pro looks very good but for the same reasons, I declined.
I also seriously considered EastWest's new Hollywood Choirs, but although it is a very good English (phrase building) choir and it came at an intro sale price recently, I'm going to hang back until next Christmas when I reckon it will be available at around 50% instead of the recent approx 25%.
Cheers

I have Venus. But I have so many other choirs, I just can't dive in. Great deal if you have no or minimal choirs. Get it NOW...I mean in the next 40 minutes.

As an update to the thread - there's an excellent deal on Hollywood Choirs at AudioDeluxe currently:
https://www.audiodeluxe.com/search/site ... 794e26a60f
However, I'm happy to have taken my time over this decision (mostly influenced by my lack of funds during the past few months), as I'm now settled on buying Dominus by Fluffy Audio for its lovely sound and fun interface, as well as Insolidus by 8Dio for its gorgeous sound:
I'm going to wait for those two choirs to come up in a sale this year.
In passing, does anyone know of any kontakt libraries featuring a Welsh male voice choir please?
I don't think there is one on the market yet, but it's worth asking just in case.
Cheers.

I tried the Hollywood Choirs during the demo contest and it has good results with the Wordbuilder. I might pick it up eventually.

Hi
I am looking for a choir; the ideal would be to have at the same time the epic dimension, and a more "soft, sensitive" dimension.
I imagine that a single product will not meet all these conditions!
What would be the best compromise in 1 product?
If not?
All your advice will be welcome knowing that the wallet is unfortunately rather empty at the end of the year!
I wanted to buy Eric Whitacre choirs on promo until tonight at 350 €.
I liked their demo tape but the comments make me hesitate.
Talking about the quality of the samples which "would be" sometimes not terrible and of old invoice at Eric Whitacre Choirs?
If not, what about GENESIS CHILDREN’S CHOIR?
Only children of course but good?
There're so Dominus Pro, VOXOS EPIC CHOIRS,
And if not, at Native, are there things?
I was also told about Soundiron ....
I read all the comments above in the blog.
It seems that EastWest Quantum Leap Hollywood Choirs is the best compromise.
Still now?
Because I'd read that Features like marcatos, staccatos, legato and advanced user control are simply missing from this library, which limits its usefulness and appeal!
Thanks a lot for the answer.
Happy new year!
