Presonus Faderport 8 alternatives, for controlling Studio One?

(please let me know if this thread should be in another section)
Hi
Faderport 8 is obviously the best controller for StudioOne, but unfortunately, at $500 is over my budget, and I can't find a used one in my country.
So now I'm looking for other controllers that might offer a decent integration with Studio One. If you have some experience with the following controllers, please share your thoughts:
- Akai APC 20/40/40MK2
- Maschine Jam
- Ableton Push 1
- Nektar Panorama P1
- Novation Remote Zero SL
- Behringer X-Touch

You can also check out ICON Platform-M. Beats at least the crappy, ugly and bulky Behringer X-Touch which doesn't even have high-rez faders.
Cheers,
Tom

The old Presonus Faderport is not an option for you?
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Thanks Tom. I'l take a look at ICON stuff. What's the difference between Platform M and Platform M+?ThomasHelzle wrote:You can also check out ICON Platform-M. Beats at least the crappy, ugly and bulky Behringer X-Touch which doesn't even have high-rez faders.
I forgot to mention that motorized faders are not that important to me. I'm more interested in having dedicated knobs for stuff like: Loop On/Off, Metronome On/Off, Track select, Mute/Solo clear, Drop Marker, Next/Prev Marker, etc.

Nope. It's way too limited for what I need. I'm looking for at least 8 faders (not necessarily motorized), and Mute/Solo/Arm/Select buttons for each channel.murnau wrote:The old Presonus Faderport is not an option for you?

There is also another possibly cheaper alternative option out there to consider investigating. In the UK it can be found for around £365 new... but obviously that may differ from where ever you are in the world. It's more of a universal controller I think. There may be specific support for Studio One when it comes to setup software, but I don't know, having just discovered it here

So, nobody tried the Akai APC 20/40/40MK2, Maschine Jam, Ableton Push 1, Nektar Panorama P1, Novation Remote Zero SL or Behringer X-Touch as DAW controllers with Studio One?

The CM Labs Motormix is supposed to work. I havent tried it with S1 but got one recently to use with my old Kyma system. Got it for £165 on ebay
The thing is built like a freaking tank, amazing build quality compared to some of the current equipment available

You're better off asking on specific Studio One forums if you're not getting the answers here. Gearslutz has a Studio One forum also, but is generally pretty quiet in activity compared to the more official support one so you could also look to posting there. But otherwise..you can find discussion on some of the controllers you listed here and users that use themKTlin wrote:So, nobody tried the Akai APC 20/40/40MK2, Maschine Jam, Ableton Push 1, Nektar Panorama P1, Novation Remote Zero SL or Behringer X-Touch as DAW controllers with Studio One?

I have been using a Mackie Control Universal (the older grey chassis) paired with a BCR2000, both purchased second-hand about 5 years ago (MCU-$200, BCR-$75). Prices seem to have gone up a little bit since then.
Both work well with S1.
