Its not announced anywhere on the german site but someone somehow found this link (there is another big thread on this one):

I am checking this for weeks now but just wondering if I really need it.

A new question just occured while reading it again (sure it has been answered in the other forum already):

- is the "Independence Sampler mit 70 GB Library" the full version useable as VSTi in any daw or only inside magix like all the other included instruments ?

Post

i don't think it is ...
it's still an amazing deal... unfortunately i can't even afford the 114 euros.
i would definitely buy it if i had the money. worth to get the sample library, soundforge and spectral layers ( which is a fascinating piece of software)...
( i am not shilling for magix btw : )

No

Check the other thread as it probably answers many of your questions, there was alot of discussion when the cheap offer surfaced at the beginning of December.

There was also a Magix Humble Bundle with shit loads of software for $20 including Vegas 14 and Vintage Effects Suite, finished now though :ud:

Independence 'free' will run outside of Samplitude. It's really quite a nice sampler, I would rate it very
high as samplers go. You can still load up to 25 samples into it and use vst effects. You can unlock it for
$65 (Independence Pro Suite), don't know if it would block the libraries by tier or not. I am considering it actually...

btw: you can install it where ever you want, with or without the content. You have to use the installation
manager to get it, but you can save a re-run the install to customize. It will deposit approx 410 mb of data
into the program data dir, but you can easily move that later with a link if you want.

I tested out the trial of Samplitude Pro X3, my honest opinion is that I found the interactive experience pretty clunky and really pretty dated in many ways. It's not a daw that I would jump to, particularly as a Studio One user. The thing about buying a daw, isn't also the money, but the time you need to invest in it, the latter of which many inexperienced consumers interested in producing music often forget.

I like Samplitude quite a lot myself, although I (and I'm sure many others), did not take the earlier deal
for the DAW. If I want the Studio One experience, I just use Studio One. If I want another experience
I use Live, Bitwig, Reason or whatever. For me, learning another DAW (or any other software for that matter)
isn't much of an investment in time tbh, although I do understand it's not that way for most folks.

investment... i think commitment is more precise.
this is also a simple economics issue.
if i could afford i would probably buy more. as it stands i have to act within limitation. which is fine. but i do like to play and experiment so i will always feel the pull of other apps. it's just in my nature. but to get things done, to produce, you have to go with the apps that most simply achieve work. so for now, reaper does everything. but i know that samplitude has a lot to offer so who knows, i may one day afford it.
as to the issue of independence running in other software, well, i don't really see the need for other apps considering you can pretty much do everything you would want in Samplitude alone.

I just like samplers, Independence is a nice one. Personally, I'm not really interested in the content, or using up 70 GB of drive space for it. Its kind of like a light-weight Kontakt, which I find useful. I have been, so far, not terribly interested in paying $65 to unlock it though, perhaps during a sale.

Post

and i only witter on about this because you also get melodyne, soundforge and spectrallayers inc.
soundforge gets overlooked but it is a more than capable sampler.
for me all of that, even if i never used the sampler and all the content are more than worth the small outlay.

Does the 70gb library come with the $65 MAGIX Independence Pro Software Suite? Says on the Magix site that it has a 2gb library, and the $330 version has the 70gb one. Reason I ask is that I'm considering buying that suite and don't want 70gb either!

Post

No, the 70 gb library comes with Samplitude Pro X or whatever, but that can only be used in Samplitude.

It’s unknown, if buying the suite key will unlock it for use outside of Samplitude.

If you didn’t take the Samplitude deal, you definitely won’t be getting the 70 GBs if content.
