I've had a quick scan through the past few months and haven't seen this problem, so maybe I'm the first to experience the following...

I was playing around with arranging strings and had a nice little thing going in EnergyXT Standalone using some strings patches from SS1 and Symphony Strings. This worked fine and sounded quite nice to my cloth ears :D

A few days later I installed OmniSynth without any apparent problems. However, when I went back to my little strings arrangment, what had been the Solo Viola from SS1 had become 042Viola in OmniSynth (which also, strangely, had a very low volume compared to other patches - are there similar problems with OmniSynth and ST2LE as there are with SS1?). I cleared the 042Viola, found the Solo Viola in the browser and double-clicked to load it. It automatically reloaded the 042Viola.

It does this everytime without fail. I can now no longer load this specific SS1 patch! :o I am able to quite easily load, for examaple, Small Viola ens from Symphony Strings, just not the Viola patch from SS1. Is this just me or has anyone else experienced this?

PS - I'm at work at the moment and working from memory as to the exact patch names. Hopefully I've got them right, but if I haven't..., and I'll come back and fix the names in necessary.

This has to do with a new ID system ST2 uses for sounds. They are one point were made from the same viola and shared the same ID. This didn't matter in ST1 but it is causing the issue in ST2 now. So, probably it is easiest for us to fix the sound and give it a new ID.

So, any sounds that are noticed doing this just send me a list and we'll replace the sound with one that has a unique ID for ST2.

If you have no idea what I just said, then just email me the list of sounds that have any issues and we'll look into it. dave@sonicreality.com

Thanks Squids. I -think- I understand it :D

I haven't had the time to do an exhaustive preview of all the different sounds (there's so many  ) but I will try and find the time this weekend to sit down and audition as many as I can.

Have there been any problems with OmniSynth sounds like there have been with SS1 sounds? I guess I'll keep an ear out for that problem as well.

I'll try and email inside the next week. I know you're busy so you won't mind a small delay in getting the info to you.

I'm certainly glad I've finally bought some SR sounds. I love this customer service
