I see there is a Beta version out now. Haven't tried it yet but for those of you who have, will it support 64bit plugins?

Wow .;it still exists .
I used xt 1 ..long time ago ..2004
Version 2.0 crashed all the time , I remember energy xt being bundled with (crappy ) behringer products , who I assumed had bought them .
Curious about the future of energy

Well yes, EXT was the most stable at the end of its v1 release. Later on it became... something weird and different. Nowadays, some people even remember it, for some reason. 64-bit support? Well, it took a long time to get it to support multi-core processing, so I suppose it could have 64-bit support now? Or not.
The developer is a real piece of work. Just forget about it. It's not worth it. Come to the Reaper side.

Why not give it a try and see for yourself ?Halonmusic wrote:Why is that ? Did Jorgen remove some features or something?bungle wrote:Compared to EXT 1.4, yes.Halonmusic wrote:So ext3 is that bad eh?![]()
It still works on my Win 10 machine with USB audio, which is pretty amazing considering my license was issued in 2006 .......

Personally, when XT2 was released, like everyone else I was a little miffed, because the change was not evolution but revolution.
But after a while I found I was not using XT1 anymore,and have used XT2 - XT3 ever since.

EXT2 brought quite a different and more regular concept. EXT1 was a modular DAW, so flexible it's mind boggling. There were also 3rd party modules for it and yes it was more stable. I've had so many crashes with EXT2 that I just gave up on it altogether.
And gradually I gave up on EXT1, also. It's still good as a sketching tool, I guess.
Maybe EXT3 or latest version of EXT2 is more stable and it should be given a chance, though. Maybe post some thoughts after you've played with it for a couple of days?
Cheers!

Depending on your setup,it may or may not work without using windows compatability mode.
I used compatability mode for win XP2.
Your soundcard drivers might not work,so use Asio4all and it should be ok.
My original license from 2006 (which also works with XT3) worked ok and I was up and running quite quickly today when I gave it a spin. If you have a new style license for XT3 it may not work,so you will have to use it in demo mode.
