His UI designs are some of the best around, imo. All are stylish and intuitive. Even his channel strips have a great look and layout too.simon.a.billington wrote:I like the way you think. Well one radical way is using Formant Shifting. That’s actually a feature in the Waves instruments I really like. Then there is Torque too, which achieves a similar kind of thing for drums, but differently.
Many pitch shifting plugins offer this kind of ability, although the quality may vary widely. Still, it’s something to consider.
What effects do you use to transform timbre?

For change and deep timbre transformation, aim for spectral/fft effects. GRM Tools, SpecOps, SpectrumWorx (RIP), Michael Norris spectral magic, etc.

SpecOps is deeper than it looks. I have more useful than just transforming a beat or creating a pad. Could open possibilities for cinematic sound designers too.Tappistry wrote:Yeah I think I'll grab SpecOps and Subsynth after I bank up some PA vouchers once their next big sale comes around.

I am annoyed by them, and the existence of this thing, but it turns out it is kind of a powerful tool.
PS, SpecOps is wicked bonx.
