Must be something like all the modules being hardwired to a matrix internaly, then recognizing what is patched by messuring the electric resistance of each plug or something.
Hell, I don't know, it just seems completely crazy to construct a monster like that. And then, would they just mention it in one subordinate clause like they did? :-o

I'm lost here! :nutter:

Hum, if so, revolutionary sorta....

and it takes all the fun out of having a modular :-\

I love the names of some of his modules. "Source of Uncertainty" is great. Not only is it kind of Cage-like...
That's what I mean, it all seems a bit unconventional, I love it! I still can't figure out which of those modules could serve as an lfo. The oscilators?

Doepfer has just recently copied that one. Same name, too.

How so? You can still tweak and experiment to your heart's content.

The Wiard Synthesiser company made something called the 'Woggle Bug', based on the S.O.U. - now unavailable since they retired their 300 series modular, but the info is still here:

I't really just an Alesis Andromeda with an expanded interface. :D

Robert
All I need to be happy is one more VSTi.

I saw Tortoise use this controller at the 9:30 club. I was wonder where they got it.
Man that last set they played after nearly everyone left was amazing. Total instrumental punk rock Tortoise style.

Nah, just get Arturia's Buchla 200v. :D

Wow. This looks cool though. Too bad it is 10-20 thousand dollars. But, at least it is possible to even get one. I used to have a Buchla 100, but the 200 was cooler. There are some really wacky modules. But, the Serge was more reliable I think. I had a 16 panel Serge modular at one point and 12 panels I got from a studio called the "Enterprise". It was owned by a guy who was on a Star Trek episode when he was a kid. The skinny red head kid (sort of Ron Howard looking).

They used to use it for sound fx for movie production. It looked very similar to a Buchla 200, used banana plug-ins which you could stack... I still have a panel of it at least but sampled the heck out of it on... well, you know. ;)

Woggle bug? Sounds like something you'd catch at Scout camp...

:D

A local get-together of Analogue Heaven members is being planned tentatively for next month, and Don Buchla has agreed to demo the new system. Should be interesting... and probably the only chance I'll ever have to hear one. Unless I suddenly win a few million dollars.
Incomplete list of my gear: 1/8" audio input jack.

Combine that with the Borg filter from the Wiard system and you get a killer combination!
