Sure, so gotta put the decay/release time to a decent value. :)

I think I fund a bug: I am modulating the Pitch of an OSC with a LFO via ModMapper. I created a Mapper 0, all works as it should. Then I created a Mapper 1 with different values. Switching between mappers won't effect the result (just the GUI changes, displaying the new mapper although the resulting process is the output of the old one) unless I switch the mapper to Off then activate the Mapper again.

Example:
Mapper 1 active -select-> Mapper 2 -- the output is still Mapper 1
Mapper 1 active -select-> Off -select-> Mapper 2 -- the output is now Mapper 2

I fixed this two weeks ago but the update is not yet released.

I am seeing some bugs with UVI Falcon and Live 10 beta. Is Falcon being tested with Live 10 beta currently or do we have to wait to use for a while?

Post

Didn't tested it yet. Is that related to retina/high DPI ?
otherwise, it's probably a bug in Live 10 as it works fine in Live 9.

No, it was asking where to save samples when using slice oscillator and couldn't cancel and when clicking OK would just ask again. Had to force quit Ableton. I'll try and replicate and do step by step instructions

Hi otristan, tristan- here.

I bought Falcon just for better handling of UVI libraries. but it's not much better. hardly any patch management there. I absolutely don't get it. Vintage Vault 2, for example, is a real mess. no better way to describe it. for example, I can't browse all "keys" or all "strings". some patches are inside the instruments, some of them are within the global patch browser.

(I started diving more into synthesis with Falcon now, but that's not the post of my post, it could be about Falcon or UVI Workstation for that matter.)

Hardly any global settings. You can set the voice count globally, so libraries are set to 16 for each patch. 16? 16! You can raise it manually every single time you load a patch.

I would be happy to hear your official comments regarding global patch management, global settings, global polyphony, the issues I raised here.

am I the only one who thinks that making library management better is a higher priority than selling a new library after another?

global patch management <-- have you tried the Search tab which allows to search for sound using text ? It uses a full text search which means that folder name are used as well. As our directory are well named, I find it to work better than regular tagging.
strings and keys will work there. There is an issue for "inside the instruments" preset still.

global polyphony <-- no such things indeed.

I have a strong computer and mainly play keys. I always have to raise the polyphony to 64 manually, tiring.

but seriously, why wouldn't you implement preset management system with favorites a-la Omnisphere (at least)?
I have so many libraries and your giant ones like VV2 or SA2. Would be great to have the best patches for you in one tidy place.
It actually makes me not open the plugin at lazy times, because I have to search for patches all the time.

regarding "inside the plugins" presets, as you refer to, I think something should definitely be done here because its very problematic. I see that most of your newer libraries use this method - which management wise is like a black hole...

so in short, I love the sound. loath the management. Its not serious for live players without this in my opinion.

I have to hijack this thread for 1 simple question, sorry...

Does someone of you know if there is any chance of a trial version of falcon at any given point in the near future?
I mean, I dont deny that this piece of software is its job doing well but... pumping 300 bucks in it (or anything else) without even having the chance to get my hands on first seems a bit "not so cool"... :/

Would appreciate any kind of information on this. It's a bit too time consuming to read nearly 300 pages when you can be sure that there is somebody who knows the answer outright. ;)

thx

Hey that works pretty nice! A search for "bass -beatbox -loop -bd" shows me a bunch of bass patches that are not in beatbox anthology, not loops, and not bass drums.

It seems to work for installed soundbanks... but not for folders in "My Places." Any way to get that same search working for my own patches (or do I have to use Finder for that?)

I don't know if I've mentioned this before, but it would be really great if we could create unencrypted .ufs Falcon soundbanks for free. That way they show up in Soundbanks, work with search, and can be distributed easily. Then if people want to do commercial encrypted sound banks they can pay for the UVI license to do so.

Just an idea...

+2!! That would be super handy for my own stuff just so I get it sorted and searchable.
