HI

I am waiting for my new (Dual Xeon) DAW, I have sold the last few bits of my hardware (I have been DAW based for a couple of years though) I need to decide (soon) on what to purchase for mastering, compression (Sold my TC & SPL Compressors/Mastering last week!) Equalization and a Killer reverb and if I can get something else thrown in (IE synths/fx or other interesting 'TOOLS')so much the better.

I can't really go and audition the various cards avalible IE Powercore, UAD1 or Creamware for a variety of reasons but am asking given the needs I have outlined if A Creamware card is capable of the above, I hear so much conflicting stuff about the other two that I am thinking leave them alone!

I know my new DAW will probably wipe the floor with plug-ins but as a bit of future proof I figured get a card as well, even my new daw will (in 2 years) be screaming!

So whats the feedback on the Creamware stuff - a bit more than their great or shit would be appreciated and can it do Comping, EQ and Reverb well.

Thanks folks.

Flipper.

Quite honestly, I use my Creamware as sound routing most of the time, it's so damn convenient! The synths are lovely, but I never found it all that convenient to use the on-board effects, as good as they are. Now if I use a synth off of the card, oh yes, I'm all over the effects. The HexaChorus is to die for. :) The reverb isn't bad. It's not DreamVerb though for the UAD-1. I like my UAD-1 for the stuff you're mentioning though.

I'd have a VERY difficult time parting with my Creamware card though if I had to.

Best thing to do? Get the whole collection! I hope to have a Powercore in here sometime soon too. :)

I got one because its the best for synths. If you're more interested in the effects side then one of the others may be more suitable but they don't have anything like as many good synths or offer so much in terms of audio routing and mixing.
