I think many of us would agree, I draw midi in, I create completely different music than if Id try to play it in.

Its the Hours and hours he broadcasts of just clicking and getting very little done that gets my goat. And it all sounds the same at the end of it. I dont mean his released musical output but the screencasts etc....boring boring boring

A real polished performer

Post

Being famous in general barely means shit these days. In the past people (often) were famous for the things they did or said that outstanding (or really horrible.) 'Fame by merit'
Now look who's famous and why...

it's just weird to see someone that famous with such little actual knowledge of music
It's not that weird to me. What is, however, is the fact Deadmau5 offers masterclass course in the same service as Hans Zimmer. :dog:

Famous smamous, that is not really success as a musician.

When you can pay the electric bill it means something.

Well, Hans Zimmer isn't exactly the most interesting film composer either. They also have Judy Blume teaching a masterclass on writing, and Christina Aguilera teaching singing. And I wouldn't consider Samuel L Jackson to be the most versatile actor either. I love comedy, but wouldn't care to learn it from Steve Martin. I don't think Usher is the master of live performance. Et cetera. These "master" classes seem to be aimed at more beginner/intermediate people who might not be sure of what it is they're trying to do; they seem to be banking on celebrity appeal and household names.

Mildly interesting that deadmau5 gets his own unique font, whereas all the other people have to share one.

Soundcloud to Spotify is like McDonald's to Burger King.
woggle wrote:soundcloud generates no revenue anyway - not for the artists and not even for the company. I have lost interest in uploading there. It is flattering to be liked by people whose work I also like, but I have seen none of that translate to spotify followers or other sorts of paid streaming. No matter how tiny the payments (and in my case they are very tiny indeed) they are always going to be more than soundcloud :)

ooooh, here is the spotify link https://open.spotify.com/album/7HnhYDD2kOwLg3mSl16LgI Perhaps you might be my first follower :)

Sounds like deadmau5 lacks formal training but has a solid intuitive understanding and ability for making music. And I'm not a huge fan of his, but what I've heard is better/more-interesting than most modern popular music I've listened to lately (tho TBH I don't listen to much as it's mostly shit to me).

At the end of the day it's results that matter.
A well-behaved signature.
