Visited a friend and cleaned & rearranged his PC a bit. Saw he was a bit short on memory so I adviced him to buy another 256MB. Only.. what kind of RAM? I couldn't find that information anywhere, not even on the memorystick already present on the motherboard of his PC.

Should be really simply but..

can't get there.

Need yer help!

If you know the mobo go to the mfrs site. If not enter the bios string ID into a site like this http://www.motherboards.org/moboidtools.html (there are plenty of others) then go to the mfrs site.

That sounds like an informed answer, thanks! Only please enlighten me what a "bios string ID" is and where I can find it. Well, I know what the bios is and how to get into it but er.. I am not aware of any "ID string"?
