Yes, if you highlight "Global" for a shortcut that means the shortcut will work regardless which area is in keyboard focus.

I already spent some time with making an AU plug-in. I was stuck because Logic Pro did not detect the plug-in, made from original Apple sample code... This will be definitely solved soon. There are plans to use the VST3 SDK which has an AU wrapper as I saw, so maybe we get an AU plug-in "for free".

Thanks,
Attila
It's been quite a while since this reply. While I was able to partially get VST output into Studio One (cannot record though), for my favourite DAW Logic Pro X I just can't figure out how to route out the MIDI. But after going through the forums, I just needed to sync the MIDI time clock, set the tempo, time signature and key to be the same on both RC and Logic, and then in RC right click on one track you want to record, set the Instrument as "MIDI: General MIDI", preset to "no patch change", device to be "Rapidcomposer Virtual MIDI Output", and then record in Logic. There may be some very minor latency issues, but that could be fixed anyway.

But anyway with ARA (Audio Random Access) 2 integrated into Logic 10.4, (maybe the ARA is a little not relevant but) how's the AU plugin progress?

Post

Good question. It is planned for March when the plug-in will be fully reworked to use the VST3 SDK. There is an AU wrapper possibility for VST3, so an AU version will automatically be built. The plug-in part is relatively simple, it is just communication with the main application, so I think (hope) this will be easy.
Thanks,
Attila

ARA is a hot topic these days.. hehe.. I am seeing it referenced a lot in other places.. Might be something to look at for v4.0, but, if you aren't familiar with it, it is primarily used to direct access/edit audio from your DAW to a VST editor, such as Melodyne. (Celomony created ARA).. I don't know what the benefit would be for a midi editor, though.. (Reaper DAW will be adding this soon..)

Post

Hello !
I also thought about it ..)
And this is what would be the benefit of Melodyne, which could be built in RC:
This would be a fantastic alliance - any AUDIO file that is loaded into the program can be instantly turned into a MIDI file. And then fantasize yourself!
Well, because we can share in the forum different fantasies?))

Post

For the time being I don't think RapidComposer users would benefit from ARA because RC is not about audio editing. I'll keep an eye on this, although I could not find any documentation or downloadable SDK on Celemony website... v4.0 will feature <secret feature removed> but I'll consider this for v5.0 :hihi:

Hello Attila!
I'm very glad that you have many interesting plans for RC,
but
me, for example, now much more interested in remaking controllers for phrases and reworking the creation and editing of rules ..
Thank you .
You are very intrigued by the future secret weapon of RC!

Hey, just curious, what would it take to create a strum generator? also, is it possible to do that now with what is available?

and my reply to that is.. oh.. lol thanks..

Hello !
Remind me someone, please ... Is it possible to drag the midi file directly from the computer to the phrase in RC track, like a rhythm, so that the phrase rhythmically changes according to this midi file? Wow! ... I have a stop thinking, my brain does not remember it and does not give the command to the hands!))) :dog:

to use VST plugins in logic, you can try a demo metaplugin 64. https://ddmf.eu/metaplugin-chainer-vst- ... x-wrapper/

there stand
Another favourite use case for Metaplugin is to load VST plugins in Pro Tools (or to load AudioUnits in Pro Tools if you’re on a Mac). Hence, you can use it as a VST to AAX wrapper or an AU to AAX wrapper. While we’re at it: you can also use Metaplugin to load VST plugins in Logic/LogicX (VST to AU wrapper).
