I think that I must be having ASIO conflicts with other ASIO drivers. My host just says:

"AsioCreateBuffers() failed. Error Code: 0"

There was some other strange behavior as well using DirectX mode.

I thought that it might be advantageous for me to leave the sbLive! card installed and use it for gaming and SF2 stuff. I'm assuming that this is my problem, but I thought there might be a way to use both cards.

Can anyone help?

I have a 1010 but have never tried running two sound cards before; you should in theory be able to choose which drivers to use from whats installed though.

The 1010 will be fine for your games anyway - I would loose the other card, totally, uninstall it, remove it and put it to rest.

Thats my opinion, I think two sound cards will always pose issues and if you don't need the second one; why keep it - at least after removing it you will get a better idea of whats wrong should the probles persist - which hopefully they won't.

I have used the delta 1010 with both a internal sound card and the podxt without any problems. My sound card is not a sb, so that may be the isssue.

I have a games machine with a 1010 installed and an Audigy, they don't conflict. You might wanna check which cards ASIO drivers are actually being used by whichever application you are using. You will only be able to use one ASIO per application so there shouldn't in theory be any actual conflicts between drivers.

Have you tried removing the Audigy card?

Anyway I have a Delta 66 as well as a 1010 and I use the digital out to sync the cards - is this what your talking about?

If it is I don't think the cards are compatible for linking - I might be wrong.

You need to contact M-Audio technical support - they are VERY helpfull.

As a side remark when I last spoke to them (him, can't remember his name - Steve I think) he stated that he (used to) build Audio PC's and recommends striping out and disconnecting EVERTHING that is of no use, even down to the com and parallel ports!

My point is even if it does not work, just remove the Audigy and see - it aint no big deal to put it back - only by stripping away possible conflicts can you sort out these kind of problems, good luck.
