he's not "a joke developer", but he does have some personality issues. i'm pretty sure this is not the first time he's "quit KVR". that's not even mentioning the fact that his time management is atrocious - he's made a lot of promises and announcements at various points in time, but delivered on very few of them. it takes a special person to be worse than Steven Slate in that regard.
I don't know what to write here that won't be censored, as I can only speak in profanity.

Bullshit! The guy is o.k.. ..it's just you can't tell him a thing.. ..that's all.
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

I've lost track of how many emails I've sent to him and the number of promised timeframes that failed to eventuate (for the Mac version).

Yeah, I got no response to the last two emails. A little different than my last experience.

Has anyone here actually used this plugin? I've heard pretty much nothing about it since the initial release.

Yes, same here, and I have quite a lot of them. I'm not going to defend Quinto, that's not my job, but all I will say I think his intentions are honorable but he often struggles to follow through on them. Perhaps he is over-optimistic in his timescales, or just gets bored and moves on to other things.VariKusBrainZ wrote:I guess some peoples idea of a joke differs

But look at Disto-S and Marconi, they are where they are based on feedback from users. For example, the original Disto was really just a distortion device that compressed (ie more of a Fatso than a Distressor). Then people said they wanted a clean Distressor so we got Disto Mk2; then people said it was too difficult to use so we got Disto-S. People said they wanted auto-gain so we got that and so on.
When Quinto gets his head in to the right place, he's very receptive to users and works hard to deliver. But yeah, when he gets distracted, he can forget about stuff for sure. And his Sicilian humour doesn't always translate well, and for sure he can get fed up with people moaning.
Meh, whatever.
A bit fried in the higher freqs
