I can definitely feel the fun in using this synth. As often, you need a basic foundation of knowledge about it and it rewards you in a way, that it is likely to support your ideas, that it offers a solution for it.
Was playing an hour with it. Still a lot of searching, but that's just how things work.

Have seen Wagtunes posting over there at Gearslutz. He's the luckiest man and in Synth heaven now :D A world of purple clouds.

"killed ArcSyn"? What?

the dev made it for his own use and made it for touchscreen,
Um .. touch screen?

Post

Yes, HrastProgrammer uses Tranzistow with a big touchscreen.

how is the cpu usage and how much is the price for the full version?

(just curious, not that I will run and buy it now! But who knows?! Maybe I will :hihi: )
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

It's not for sale.

It is extremely efficient considering everything that can happen under the hood. Out of 3500 patches it comes with, I didn't find any which went over 5-6% when playing quite thick chords with both hands on my i7-6700K (4.5 GHz). This is what you get when your audio engine is fully coded in assembler.

Post

Dev should go a donation route with a strict "no support" disclaimer. My 12 minute VST attention span needs new food ;) No, don't tell him.

Post

Yes it is very efficient in cpu usage and it has a very good quality sound. I demoed it and it really needs a good GUI design IMO. Some additional meaningful colours would help I think.

Anyway, I believe it can gain a good commercial success if there is an easy to use GUI. I hope the developer considers this :)

Not for sale but there is a way to get the full version if you're willing to put in some time into it. I won't go into details here because I'm not sure if the dev wants this public knowledge or not. Download the PDF and it will go into detail there.

Do these have Mac versions?

Interface is not a problem if you use something like Kore or Komplete Kontrol as it can just be broken into chunks handled by knobs like any other plugin

I think they're Windows only but I'm not 100% sure. It says on the web site.

He has published the PDF to the public.

And IMO: if even 10000 people would buy his software and he had no obligation (I can perfectly understand him) - he should not be disappointed that only 100/10000 would actually use it in depth. It's just how things work. He should see the 100 who value it.

Yeah, but how many people read PDFs?

Developer considered this, but decided it's of no importance to him to make it commercial, not without some venture capital funding. :D

Hrast is a programmer by day so he's already sorted out, income-wise (hence no donation button on his website). Plus he created T/D for his own personal use in his own free time. Supporting all the different DAWs and plugin formats would eat away into that free time more than he's probably willing to.

Fortunately there are a great number of developers out there with a better attitude, who make great free software that people can actually use.
