What I plan to do is sequence midi on a p166mhz laptop and send the midi over lan to energyXT on my main computer (for those days when I don't want to get out of bed;))

It can't be dependant on ASIO (like energyXT) as even the ASIO4ALL drivers don't work for me.

I don't really *need* vst support as I plan to use the midi over lan tools from tobybear (so I can loopback the midi to mid2net.exe), although support for vst would be a bonus if they can act on midi. Then I can use my SE midiFX.

Oh and 48mb ram.

so think waaayyy back and tell me what you were using in the early 90's. (I was using RDH3030 and the drum sampler thing from d-lusion :lol:)

It sounds almost like a GM-ish sequencer (Jazz++ or maybe an older version of PowerTracks - I think I got a freebie version of 3.5 with an older version of Band-in-a-Box) could do it for you.
