All I said, if you go back and read my first post on this ridiculous subject, was that all these so called "exclusive" R&B sounds (again, we're talking SOUNDS) were not exclusive to R&B music. Outside of a few, which I alluded to, most of them were equally used by rock groups.fluffy_little_something wrote:Well, you made a specific claim, so you should be able to back it up with examples...
I mean for crying out loud. It's not like the synths of the era were capable of making a wide pallet of sounds like they can today. How many sounds can a Minimoog or a Prophet make? Relatively speaking, very few. Most are just slight variations of other sounds. Anybody who argues that much is clearly clueless as to how limited synths of the era were unless of course we're talking about samplers like the Fairlight, which could do just about anything, or something like a Mellotron.
The capability of a wide pallet of sounds DID NOT EXIST. Certainly NOT like today.
So by all means. Please play me these "exclusive" R&B "sounds" that NOBODY else was using. It's laughable.
Which is why I said, and it's ALL I said, was that an R&B sound library might as well just be a generic sound library because there were only so many sounds made back then to begin with.
