I immediately figured it was every Stick newbie's dreaded nightmare...I'd have to adjust the neck's truss rod.

Better than what I had: my earlier model had frets that came unglued! Got it repaired quickly under warranty, though. The new frets are of a new design, though: shouldn't happen to you.

Kinda makes a case for the old polycarbonate resin instruments, though I heard they were extremely heavy...
