What are you on about, every other expansion is flavor of month dance oriented and sounds are just cliches you would want for doing that kind of music and even you confirmed that.

I don't have Syntronik, but it seems to focus on vintage synths, whereas Nexus is 90% about contemporary stuff. Nexus is like a greatest hits set of patches from modern dance synths, both its strength and weakness. Maybe fans of Syntronik would say the same about that for vintage stuff, I don't have any experience there though and am so well covered for analogue that I lack the enthusiasm to find out.

For the record, I use Nexus2 to create all kinds of music, that isn't related to EDM - prog rock, ambient, electro-rock, new age, orchestral, soundtrack, etc. (no Nexus2 on my music page yet).

Nexus2 might not be the perfect system for these genres, but I like what it adds to the vision! I admit you have to be very selective about which soundsets you purchase. Luckily, there are a lot of soundsets to select from.

Exactly, it's not and it's totally your personal thing.

You are right! If you don't make "Future-Hipster-EDM-Wave" with Nexus the eLicenser will stop working!

Well I don't even understand the popular concept that this type of sound has to be used to make this or that type of music! Sounds are just sounds, and can be used wherever one wants to use them, IMO.

Sure, some sounds scream of some popular song or usage, but even those iconic, recognized sounds can find a place in totally unrelated music (but you have to be careful!).

Oh well, there so much I don't understand about modern day views of music and the proper role of various synths and sounds and eras within that world. For me, synths are just one of many types of sound generators to achieve your goals in music. Some hate Nexus, and some love Nexus - like most things in life!

That's not very informative. Why does Nexus blow it away? How do they actually compare? How is the editing and effects, workflow etc?

Maybe something green could help yourself to widen your musical horizon at least... :hihi:

Seriously, it could be argued much of the innovation we see in tech was from people on drugs, including weed. So much of our history is imbued with the fruits of intoxication. Someone needs some mushroom tea and a nice hooka in their life I think :hihi:

Very true. Both Avenger and Nexus though are designed to be EDM-friendly. Here's what I mean - if you have an init saw patch, it has reverb and delay on it. You could use that patch in EDM, it just sounds right as it is - just a sawtooth, but with genre-specific effects applied. Take the effects off and it's any random sawtooth from any random synth.

I use Avenger for mainly non-dance stuff - it can absolutely be done and its a real joy to program, but left to its own devices the synth naturally guides you down certain paths. With such limited editing, this is obviously more true for Nexus than Avenger.

It's simple, if it works for you, awesome, but that still doesn't' change the fact that Nexus is massively tailored to particular thing and getting it for something different isn't best investment one could make.

i think if you bough Zebra and just used 3rd party banks you could find more diverse synth sounds for all the genres you do, here, just a few banks:
