Hi,
When I try to load/save an fxp or fxb in Sytrus, Ableton hangs.
Is anyone else having this problem?
cheers!

great, thanks for the help people.
That sets my mind at ease.
For now, I am indeed using EnergyXT as the fix; in fact that's what convinced me to finally buy it.
ps. off-ish topic: the great thing about using EXT in Live is that you can CC map any VST parameter; which means, you can then record your knob tweaks live in overdub mode straight to the Clip Envelope!
(afaik, in live without ext, many vst params can only record to the arrange view.)
For me at least, that's a frickin' dream come true!

Fred is working on it, but while a new version of Sytrus will be released soon, he hasn't found a workaround yet I think.
Problem is that Live does a lot of things from its mixer thread apparently, and that the VST specs never really told what's safe to be done from which thread.
We never made our plugins so that it's safe to switch presets from another thread but the GUI one.

Thanks GOL. So presets should only be saved from the GUI. How do I d this in live? I do not see an access button.
Best,
Gordon

I think they should, the VSTi specs never made this clear (nor told about to my knowledge)So presets should only be saved from the GUI.

OK Thanks. I don't do it that much anyway, so it ain't a big deal for me. If I do I will mess with presets in FruityLoops and save it from there. It should not be a problem loading a new preset in Live right as long as I save it properly in the correct folder.
