Yeah exactly, neither had I. Had gone completely unnoticed by me before. So, nice to have this thread herefluffy_little_something wrote:The developer doesn't even seem to be interested in spreading the news about his plugins, I had never heard of them before, frankly.

Sure. In my case, it would simply make me not use the plugin. No blame from my side, especially with so many plugins, commercially or free available anyway.Guenon wrote:He hasn't said anywhere he's surprised about people sharing their opinions on this stuffchk071 wrote:But, he should not be surprised about people sharing their opinions on this stuff then.. What has been said multiple times in this thread is, it's perfectly okay if you don't like what he has coded. That's the essence of as-is, even. What I have wanted to point out is, it doesn't make it a "shit attitude" if he doesn't then try to please the ones who hold that opinion of the software. People enjoy different things, and are interested in using different stuff. That's okay, and this was made available for those (and only those) who might enjoy stuff specifically like this.

It's pretty ironic, calling me negative, and believing yourself as being positive.Guenon wrote:After all, you are only weighing in with negativity at this point, for quite a while in this thread actually. No need to be dragged into it any further
At this point, you have lost the plot, as most others that religiously support the developer by personally attacking anyone who dare have a different opinion on this forum.
I know exactly what this kind of behaviour is, and it can get ugly and even dangerous if unchecked. Let's see just how bad it gets here.
Reason I'm warning people to stay away from bad developers is simple: it will save them a lot of wasted time and emotional energy in future. I'll happily continue warning people in future.

I would not use those synths because my mind doesn't work that way, but I would not say he is a "bad developer"

Yes, it is. Even 'as is' it is a contribution to the community. Most importantly you use the word 'company' which has implications such as commerse. AFAIK Hrast Programmer is not a company.chk071 wrote:So, if company XY releases a free plugin, it is a contribution to the community eh? Let me ask you something....have to ever contributing anything to KVR ? A patch, a sample, a skin, tutorial...anything ?
You are being negative and You have lost the plot (if you ever had it.) Calling Hrast Programmer a 'bad developer' (or at least insinuating it) proves it. It also shows a really entitled, selfish, and immature outlook. Once again, if you don't like it, can't use it, etc. then move on. It would be like me calling U&I Software "bad developers" because they haven't made MetaSynth pc compatible. Actually the comparison doesn't fit because MetaSynth is a item of commerse but Tranzistow and Diodow are Not.egbert101 wrote:It's pretty ironic, calling me negative, and believing yourself as being positive.Guenon wrote:After all, you are only weighing in with negativity at this point, for quite a while in this thread actually. At this point it seems that any more effort trying to put the matter in perspective is time wasted. Words, logic, and reasoning don't work with everyone.

a bad developer, you're serious, Hrast is , for me, one of the best dev with Gol, Urs and dmitry from diversion and Richard from synapse.( i could say Angus, Lennard, uvi, solo too....)
people are more interesting with nice ui and quick presets for make fastfood music ala mcDo.
no prob for me, enjoy, but stop bashing if you re not able to understand the power under a synth engine.
let's talk about unik features Harst dev bring to the table in the vsr world, like rotor, phaselocked, cv input, additive via gpu....

I am aware that it isn't. But, most companies release freeware as a means to advertise for their commerciral plugins, and absolutely righteously so. I don't get this "community" thinking, i neither asked for this, nor does the dev have to feel insulted if people compare it to other plugins, or criticize certain things about the plugin. If he wants to develop something entirely for himself, he can feel free to do so. The moment he releases it to the public, he should be aware that people will judge whether it is something which is useful for themselves as well, or if that is not the case.CrystalWizard wrote:Yes, it is. But, why we even discuss this? Obviously, the dev does know all this.

See, I haven't even engaged you, yet you jump onto the insult and personal attack bandwagon, showing the same cultish behaviour as all the others.CrystalWizard wrote: You are being negative and You have lost the plot (if you ever had it.) Again, having a different opinion on a public forum isn't a crime.

Exactly thisegbert101 wrote:Again, having a different opinion on a public forum isn't a crime.
Voicing a different opinion on a public forum isn't religious or cultish either. It's merely presenting a different viewpoint from yours. Similarly, if someone voices their opinion on their own personal website about how they like to use the software they created, and wish to share it with people who see things alike, it's not a crime either, or "bad attitude." Also, pointing out that these sorts of labels you put on stuff/people are a bit harsh isn't "attacking" or "ugly" or "dangerous".

My original point was about attitude. Bad developer is perhaps going too far, and I'll apologise for that misunderstanding and I apologise to the developer for implying it. And with that, I'll take myself out of this thread.
