The flat sliders are so much easier on the visual comprehension. Thanks Guenon.

@Evildragon I have, but can't recall if this happened before that.
@Kokette Attempting that scares the &^%&^^%$#^%$* out of me.

Thanks, I didn't have minimal undo states enabled after all. So yep, tried it now, and it works in Reaper as supposed to.

That is REALLY not a good idea because other plugins will misbehave when saving projects. I need to tell Hrast to change that suggestion to just enabling "Save minimal undo states" for TW/DW, which works to same extent but is a per-plugin option, not a global one.kokotte wrote:have you try to Disable saving of full plug-in state" in the reaper vst pref?

Damnit. Automation seems like a no go. Tried fixed freq and crash on try. Pulse Width worked, but then on reload crashed Reaper and was unable to re load project until I disabled automation.

Yeah, I agree. And it is!TheNeverScene wrote:That's how it should be. A whole new ball game, eh?
I think I went about 50/50 with presets/init in my debut last month, with pretty easy sounds, and even though I always have to tweak at least a button or two on presets before using them on a track (a compulsion, probably, to make it feel like I "own" the sound) it did feel a bit like cheating. This month it's for real, though. Really enjoying this game so far - it's definitely helped me to stay focused on the programming aspect.

Okay, because I have absolutely zero shame in my game, here is my boullion cube/stew starter/making patches snippet of a clusterf^%k.
The last sound made was the closed hihat. Upon render, the hihat was gone. Went back and tried to finagle it back in but had to delete the instance (it asked to save the init patch, which it wasn't, I said no, but init was overwritten with missing hi hat patch anyways) and reinsert the synth acted like nothing happened. I am soooooo confused.
*edit* track deleted to prevent submission confusion

UNDO!!!! Jeez, that was an edit....not quote. Where's the Forum for Dummies manual when you need it. This synth has me all discombobulated.

Indeed I'm also having quite some crashes with automation in Reaper, unfortunately.functionform wrote:Damnit. Automation seems like a no go. Tried fixed freq and crash on try. Pulse Width worked, but then on reload crashed Reaper and was unable to re load project until I disabled automation.
Use the MIDI modulation matrix to do things with CCs instead. Not ideal, but oh well.

That's a pretty cool start, TNS!
Wow, this thread is filling FAST!
...well, congrats to the creator for having an OSC on this, which just has to be a labor of love. I sympathize with the GUI, hahaha. I must say, I've had fun with GUI making pretty quickly, but normally my stuff would look like that, too.
Behavior of the gui can be a little unnerving, because one so easily ends up accidentally clicking on the wrong slider in a variety of ways, hahaha. But the sound is really smooth.
I'm pretty sure you guys went already through a lengthy "samples"-discussion, but my two cents are: TOTALLY NO! Because this is not at all like the Thorn situation. In Thorn the allowed samples were allowed, because they replaced the noise generator and generally didn't invite to become a carrying component of the sound. I would, this time, very much oppose it categorically. That said, I also don't think it's at all necessary, because this thing is a sonic BEAUTY! I hope very much that it is stable, but within the first half hour I'm having it quite well under control. The double-tapped GUI pages are a fun touch, I must say. Totally made me think I was nuts for a second, but at a closer look: Wow, haha!

Anyway, yeah, we shall see how it pans out and I hope the developer is up for potential fixes, if things go wrong?!?
Pity that parameter change isn't hooked up for automation, that's for sure. I know, I know, it's freaking horrible kind of labor to code that stuff...nearly ungrateful, but at the end it makes a massive difference, of course. It wouldn't have crossed my mind to release a synth without automation possibility, so...I find that very encouraging, hehehe!
Again, though, great stuff and I'll have some fun with it, see what happens.

Yeah Taron, I'm not even considering the sample side of things. That's a whole other can of worms, and samples are lame
Yep, it absolutely is a sonic beauty...getting things to pan out as in my head is another story, but I don't think that's what this synth is about. Glad you're here!!
