Got an e-mail saying Spitfire have an announcement on 28th Feb and to mark the date.
i'd like to start a thread of pointless speculation and rumour re what that might be.
They had a 30% sale for Black Friday, then a slightly odd 40% sale starting on Christmas day (you got 40% off any libraries you had on your wish list). They have announced they are closing the current Labs sample listing but are going to relaunch it some time in the future but it will be different.
To me that feels like a clearing of the decks - either to get to sort of encourage people who would have bought libraries to have bought them and/or an attempt to raise cash in a short period.
My speculation is it might be
1. Move to cloud based offering
2. Move to smaller cheaper libraries - maybe repackaging what they already have
3. They've been bought by Roli and are working on a bunch of MPE'd libraries.
2 and 3 would be good for me. 1. currently of no interest.
I'm hoping it isn't that they are closing down or it's just another library being announced.
So what are your guesses?

It's just another library being announced most likely.

that would be a bit of a let down. I'm all for creative marketing stuff but that would be a bit over the top I think.
the thing that made me think that wasn't the case is that previous library releases have been announced as just that - with the name of the library..
we'll see...

Apple bought them and Logic 10.5 will include all libraries for free for mac users....
Nah‘ Just another release and trying to start a bit of the usual hype.
Or subscription (which i wouldn‘t use ever).

I'm curious how to "reserve" a date? Isn't the date going to happen regardless of me taking any steps? Can I stop Thursday by reserving Friday?
If you have to ask, you can't afford the answer

actually they said "save the date".
apparently you can save the date using a piece of analogue equipment called a cullender - although I may have misheard.
I'm not sure what I should be wearing for the date. I usually wear formal evening wear, dinner jacket and white tie while addressing people on the internet (I like to keep standards) - or should I break out the full ermine robes and hat?

I might be wrong, but given that they have advised us to save the date, I think they're just kindly reminding us that 2018 is not a leap year.
Of course, 2016 and 2020 were/are leap years and have an extra day, February 29th.
However, some of us prefer to keep up to date by just adding an extra quarter of a day on to each year instead.

They are moving everything to a subscription model because Henry da Vandal from Gibson has bought the company and he wants your cash in his pocket.
So get ready with your credit card numbers.....
Maybe they will even offer free lifetime updates for even more $$$ ?
Get those keen subscribers salivating at the thought of it all....
Then in a couple of years he will shut the company down so that he can claim a big fat tax deduction

I saved it for a while, but then the temptation became too strong and I ate it. The figs and raisins, too.ChamomileShark wrote:actually they said "save the date".
