Me too... I was out if the loop for a couple years and came back last Autumn. For better or worse.

Yeah, it's OK, though. Just down the block, another guy gave me a great deal on some lunar real estate, so it was a good day overall.

Back here on earth, I do kind of regret buying the Arturia V Collection. I got V5 for half price on Black Friday, something like 15 minutes before V6 came out and they stopped selling the old one. And of course that would still be a good deal if I actually enjoyed using more than a few of the instruments, but aside from the Modular, Synclavier and SEM, I always find myself closing the Arturia plugins after about 5 minutes after opening them. The included presets don't really hold my attention, and some of the GUIs are skeuomorphic to a fault, and it's not particularly fun (for me, at least) to coax them into producing something I find more interesting. Maybe I just need to give them another chance. It's not that they're bad, exactly. They're just... disappointing.

Agreed! Early in this thread I see several people mentioning their regret for buying ALCHEMY, and I've been kicking my self for the last year or so for not buying ALCHEMY when it was available!

Maybe one of the ALCHEMY regretters could sell me theirs (if that's even a possibility). Different strokes...

TL;DR: He was warned by a mod for his disrespectful behavior towards other users (after a long history of getting into arguments with people who disagreed with him, or disliked the stuff he did), called the site owner a stupid c*** (or similar), and got banned for life.

Kudos for his attitude towards crowdfunding though. I really dislike it too.

He's so bad he was banned from this forum.
Yep, after he insulted me, I mentioned that and the guy blocked me. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt, everyone has a bad patch where they don't behave themselves, but he seems pathological. I wonder what his sales figures are like because of it.

You know what's funny? I don't not buy things because people are jerks. If I like the product and want it, I get it. But I didn't buy Poly-Ana because that GUI is a train wreck. Even the alternate skins are no picnic. Way too much stuff on one screen.

Well, I did buy it, and asked about an update to deal with the now increasingly difficult to deal with GUI, but dude thinks his shite don't stink, basically. I will walk away from a company if they are flaming aspholes.

I'm sure if someone were to hang around here long enough they'd be able to get a couple of well-priced licenses. :hihi:

Seems that sort of language, member to member, is acceptable on here now. Doesn't even get a temp suspension.

I've never sold a synth and have no regrets about any purchases. But I have wasted valuable time downloading freebies! So I wondered how I made those bad decisions. I realised that I buy a synth only when I generate new musical ideas when I play it (<20 synths; #1 Alchemy). There are a lot of well-designed synths with great sound, but they just aren't "my" instrument (e.g. u-he and NI synths). Go figure.

I've been watching the Buy & Sell forum, but not very regularly, and haven't seen anything yet. But I also wonder if a second-hand license could be properly transferred/registered these days, and I've read conflicting info about a Key File being needed (maybe just for certain expansions!?), so not sure this dream is even possible at this point. I should've struck while the iron was hot! :dog:

I *almost* regret buying Synthmaster, I just don't get on with the interface, I own Synthmaster One as well and love that, it is like night and day usability wise. My hope is Synthmaster 3 will rectify most of what makes 2.x a less than ecstatic chore.

The problem with transferring Alchemy is the buyer's name, address, email and phone number are shown on startup. My suggestion: read the manual to understand its structure, and then make the workflow you like in other software.

Fabfilter Twin2. Was excited at the time for a few weeks and then never used it again. FabFilter GUIs are good for effects but the just don't suit a synth. The sound is totally lifeless too, no character at all. I figure it's worth hanging on to it though just for the added discount on other FF products.

I'd be curious to see that-alchemy is one of my favorites partly because of the UI.
