Question about selling Ableton Live 10 Suite

So I started with Live Lite 9 in December 2017 when I bought a Novation Launchkey. I then bought Live 9 Suite s/h here on KVR. This qualified me for the Live 10 upgrade. I've decided to sell the lot. There's some really great stuff with Live but I'm so used to Reaper that I find myself barely using Live. Two months down the line and it's activated the "If it's not being used enough, it goes' policy I have with plugins and software :)

So when it comes to selling it all, my Ableton account says I have two licences: Live 9 Lite and Suite 10 (Upgrade).

Is it the case that a sale to someone else as Live 10 Suite would involve transferring the Lite licence first and then the upgrade? Just want to make sure I have things right in my head before selling.

Post

You sell both together. It the whole account that gets transferred.

Lovely, thank you for that :)

Post

Why the eff do you wanna sell it? Ableton is the greatest daw on the planet at the moment. You might as well keep it, spend a bit more time gettin' used to it and see wha' appenz. I'm mean shit what a waste!

Post

If you sell your Live Suite 10 you'll still have Lite 9. As you didn't upgrade to Suite from Lite those licences aren't linked.

Post

If the Suite 10 you got is not an upgrade from the lite version you can just seel the Suite license.

Because it doesn't work for me and my workflow as well as other things. I've spent plenty of time with it in the past, still have a working version of 6 on another computer, and Lite would actually be enough for me for certain things. It is a fab piece of software, no question, but it's really not needed for me.

I was presuming you upgraded from Lite to Live9, then to 10. If you didn't use Lite to upgrade, then you can sell them separately. I would check with Ableton first ...

Oh you again...He/She who keeps telling all of us that Live is the greatest DAW and we should just accept your view.
I have Live 9 standard... I use it just for some specific duties...
My main DAWs are Samplitude (the first DAW I ever used in 1997) and Reaper.
(I am not so dumb as to go around saying they are the greatest... they just work for me and others)
Live falls very short when it comes to the arrangement view for the work and workflow I use...
So while Live MIGHT be the best for YOU, don't go around telling everyone it is the best, period.
I also remember you being somewhat abusive to those who did not share you view of live...
basically implying their methods/workflow was wrong..
better go and preach your sermon to the converted, they will applaud and worship you..

I'm actually going back into my Paypal history to figure it all out. I blame a hard week with the kids, it's left me incapable of even simple mental functions..

So I started with Live Lite 9 with the Novation Launchkey.
Then bought Live 9 Standard on KVR. This was a full version and not a upgrade from Lite to Standard.
Bought the Live 9 Suite with free Live 10 Suite upgrade a couple of days later.

You should be fine to sell separately in that case, or keep Lite for messing with :)

Splendid. A combination of Lite and Audiomulch will do very nicely for me. Thanks for the help :)

Alternative idea: Let's all just use whatever DAW best allows us to manifest our creative intentions. There is no "greatest DAW," there's only what works best for you.

Most people who get on these forums do electronic music. Is that a fair statement? If I was on the DUC or sounds on sounds or gearslutz forum the phrase 'Ableton is the greatest daw on the planet' probably wouldn't have as much meaning as many there are in bands or mix. Well this forum, saying that is pretty accurate..assuming that the bulk of people here do electronic music. Ableton at a technical level is by far the best daw for electronic music and that is a fact that cannot be argued.
Those who refute it either dont quite understand what electronic is or they're not very good at it or they hardly use Ableton. But if you actually believe it isn't then I challenge you to categorically state how. Until then do not attempt to correct those who are right. Correct people when they're wrong, like I'm doing to you now.

I don't even have a Justifiable response to this...
The post above this is likely bait, viewer discretion is advised.
